1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NKJV)
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

Clear enough.

I believe it's before.

Luke 21:36 (NKJV)
36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

yes, the Bible is clear that it is before the tribulation.
Daniel 12th chapter, verses 1-3
btw Flygerian it doesn't matter what you care to believe, God's word remains true.
it is man that tends to deceive not God.

Sorry folks, but the raffling off of 'RAPTURE' tickets from false preachers and their descendants will be cancelled due to what the Scriptures actually say. In other words ain't nobody going nowhere.

.

Even though the word ‘harpazo’ can be traced to the Latin ‘raptos’....‘harpazo’ still has at least four other meanings that may or may not be similar in meaning; and remember words MUST BE TRANSLATED ACCORDING TO THE IMMEDIATE TEXT SURROUNDING a word or recorded elsewhere in the Bible to get a full understanding of how a word was used 2,000 years ago. The ideas presented in 1 Thessalonians must also include the essence of Christianity, which is the resurrection of the dead ( 1 Corinthians 15 ). This essence can only be interpreted as meaning a person must physically die to experience the phenomenon of being resurrected from the dead. One must also physically die to follow Jesus, who by-the-way also died physically ( read Hebrews 2:14-15 ). Jesus also taught us, if it happens to us, it happened to him first. If anyone deserved to be Raptured, it would have been Jesus. And when the Apostle said "All men are appointed to die once" in ( read Hebrews 9:27 ) he didn't leave anyone out and that includes you and I my friends.

.

Now, my choice is ‘to catch up’, which is the infinitive form of the verb ‘caught up’ in the English language. A verb that carries a simple meaning: complicated by deceitful or ignorant preachers. It means, you go first and I’ll catch up with you later. When you apply this meaning to the text surrounding ( 1 Thess. 4:17 ), you then get a very different picture than that presented by modern Rapture promoters.

The text in Thessalonians plainly tells us that the people who remain alive on earth, shall catch up (by physically dying) with their brethren (who before them ) have fallen asleep ( physically died---see John 11:11-15 ), with the Lord in the air. The word ‘clouds’ is also a metaphor used to describe children of God who have been given clean white robes signifying their sins have been forgiven ( see Zechariah 3:1-5 ).

Btw.... the guy (John Darby) who started this false doctrine in the 1800's, whose steps you still continue to follow in, also predicted the world would end in his life time. The fact that it didn't ought to tell you guys today that he was a false prophet working for the adversary and not for God.

.

.

Dueteronomy 18:22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

It doesn't matter who claims to have started the discussion about the Rapture,
the fact remains that it is going to occur. The Bible makes it clear that the Rapture IS NOT false!
The Bible was around before John Darby,
therefore the Bible is correct :)
However, I do agree with Dueteronomy 18.
and that applies to many false teachers, preachers and prophets today. Many false religions today.
Jude says that God comes back with thousands of saints, how can there be that many saints coming back with him without the Rapture before hand?
And if you're reading intelligence cannot figure out that "clouds" = clouds
check your eyesight, or ask a first grader, they know what clouds are lol. It IS NOT a metaphore for anything and does not give the hint in any way. You may not be going anywhere, but many of us are :)
btw who are you following? whoever it is they're handing out false interpretations
of scriputres. better be careful!

How many comings do Christians believe in? There are only supposed to be two. The physical birth and then the resurrection after death. According to Christianity, the resurrection has happened. The rapture would be a third coming and the return on the Mount of Olives a fourth coming. The rapture is a myth and so is the resurrection of Jesus.

Matthew 24 does not even hint at a rapture. It would have been a perfect time to reveal it but He didn't. There IS no rapture. The false Christ comes first deceiving the whole world. That is Bible. You have been deceived.

Satan is the god of this world and his messiah is Jesus. Satans message will be spread throughout the world and then the end will come. There will be no rapture, tribulation, or millennium. The Lord is coming and he will plead with all flesh. Everyone will make a decision for God or for Satan. There is only one second coming and the entire world will witness it as it happens. In that day shall there be one Lord and his name one.

Even the KJV teaches 'rapture'.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 (KJV)
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
