consumerism: everyday tones

African-American athletes like Reebok Pumps, a special brand of durable sport sneakers that puff up in air cushion support if you squeeze a valve button that comes built into the shoe itself.
The Reebok Pump is enticing and unusual and because it offers user-friendly do-it-yourself enhancement, it appeals to the minority sentiment of self-reliance, a sentiment that is emotionally comforting to African-Americans who may feel socially pressured to perform well in athletics to compensate for unsatisfactory political prestige.
This offbeat notion suggests that consumerism-implicit Hollywood (USA) movies such as "Soul Food" (1997) perhaps serve as engaging psyche symbols of couture self-determination.
Are they printing movie posters on hemp/recycled paper yet?
