As usual, all you ever do is insult other posters. You never present any evidence for your opinions.
You're such a Cuntington Guy.
Are you talking to yourself? Sounds like it.

Prove that visions of Jesus aren't false visions. "The Bible says so" isn't proof, it's your opinion.
Show me the cold hard proof.
And while you're at it, explain why only Christians see Jesus. If God is so great why doesn't he appear to non-Christians in NDEs?
Personally I have heard of people not being Christian who have seen Christ..

and it changed their lives...But personally I believe that faith comes by hearing..

and hearing the word about Christ..preaching of the gospels not what a person has envisioned.

I should have been more specific. I was referring to NDEs, not visions in the general sense. NDEs are culturally specific.

It's still a new study, moron. All you're doing is trying to deflect attention from the facts.
You claim to have had an NDE. Right off the bat, why should I believe you?
YOU CAN'T, I AM NOT FORCING YOU TO.
But I ask you to consider the fact that lying to give false witness is a sin to me.
HighlyEvolved wrote:
<quoted text>You claim that you weren't a believer when you had the NDE. Again, why should I believe you?
Same as above. Only that I was a believer,(against the wishes of my family), but I never attended Church and one could accuse me of being a believer 'blindly'. I had no reason to be a believer.
HighlyEvolved wrote:
<quoted text>People have hallucinations all the time.
.Should we believe that everything those people experienced was objectively real? Or just real to them?
I had never had a hallucination before. And the claim that NDEs are merely hallucinations is one of the most attacked theories.
(I'll dig up some links).

<quoted text>You're comparing a personal anecdote (your unproved and undocumented claim that you had an NDE) with a scientific study that was extensively documented.
Would my NDE be any more real to you and critics if I reported it?
Would it then be considered proven?
Would it give mine more credibility?

BUT THEIR ALL SIMILAR! PEOPLE OF ALL CULTURES HAVE THEM BECAUSE PEOPLE OF ALL CULTURES DIE!!

Athiest have them and have changed. Skeptics have had them and have changed sides. People who have had them commonly no longer fear death!

Hallucinations, whether deliberately drug-induced, the result of medication, or caused by oxygen deprivation, almost always take place while the subject is awake and conscious, whereas NDEs happen during unconsciousness, sometimes when the subject is so close to death that no record of brain activity is recorded on an electroencephalograph, the machine that monitors brain waves. Also, the medical conditions that take subjects to the brink of death, and to having a NDE, do not necessarily include oxygen-deprivation, or any medication. This is particularly true of accident victims. NDEs appear to occur at the moment when the threat of death occurs, not necessarily at the time, maybe hours later, when death is close enough to be starving the brain of oxygen.

Which then makes it very interesting...wouldn't you say?..and there is still a tremendous amount we don't know about how we are made.

I have just recently been listening to a Christian perspective on UFO's ..and people who believe they were abducted..this is very similar in some sense..and it was agreed its satanic.

Some NDEs, not all, are hallucinations, some are lucid dreams. And in some cases, there have been NDEs that were implanted in patients' memories while they were under hypnosis. That's why there is so much confusion about them.

Alien abductions are incredibly similar to accounts of succubi and inccubi from the late 14th/early 15th centuries.

Modern research has found that these experiences occur during hynogogic and /or hypnopompic sleep, which is when we are just falling asleep or just waking up. These are the stages in which sleep paralysis occurs.

And just like NDE experiences, alien abductions (just like visits from inccubi and succubi) are culturally conditioned.

These links will give you a good overview of the topic:

MY NDE:

I don't remember any tunnels or bright lights. All I rembemer now is watching myself on the hospital bed being tended to by a nurse.

I may have remembered more in the past but it is becomming so vague now.

The first thing I said to Dad when I awoke was "THEY TOOK ME AWAY ON A BIG WHITE THING."
I know you are thinking that was the ambulence, but how could I remeber seeing it when I was unconscious and lying on my back?
