What DOES the bible say about the end of the world?

Many are speculating about whether the end of the world will come when the Mayan Calendar runs out? It's doubtful. But the question of the end of the world is still a good one to ask.

I've written this article on the Bible Reflections site which offers some ideas about what the bible has to say about the end of the world: http://www.bible-reflections.net/news/what-do...

But throwing the question out to the Topix community:

Given all that the bible says about the end of the world, what evidence is there that the coming of the Lord is near?

No one knows, and if someone claims to know then they are deceivers.

Mark 13:32
But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Matthew 24:36
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

And yet Avg of 40% of American believe we are in the end times. Far greater percentage with white Evangelicals at 58% far less with collage grads at 19%

No-one knows when the end will be but it is always a good idea to live each day as if it will be your last one on earth.

In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

To answer your comment here is easy for anyone, just pick up a Bible (KJV) and read the last book in that Bible, it will tell you everything you want to know!!

Amen! As a Christian, I need not be worried about silly Mayan calendars or date setters. I have eternal life through the shed Blood of my Messiah Jesus. His sinless life, death, and resurrection provided a way for me to be able to stand before a Holy God and be accounted worthy. Not by my own works, but by His atoning, redeeming, blood sacrifice.(Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-13, Ephesians 1:13-14, 1 Corinthians 15:3-8)

John 3:16- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

2 Corinthians 5:21- For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Colossians 1:14- In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
