Just because Mrs. Savita Halappanavar wasn't a christian doesn't mean it's not relevant to the christian forum.

She died (she was murdered, really) because Mengeles...I mean, "doctors" at a catholic hospital in Ireland refused to do an abortion. The foetus was already dead, there was no chance of survival, but the "doctors" refused to save her life. She died of blood poisoning from the infection.

But this is an attitude typical of many christians: "Women are only holes to be filled and produce babies. They're no longer human beings with rights once they're pregnant."

The message to women is obvious: don't get pregnant when christians are around. They'd rather see you die than survive a miscarriage.

Also of note: the procedure that Mrs. Halappanavar wanted but was denied was called a "partial birth abortion", a procedure done when there is ZERO chance of the baby's survival but the mother could survive.

In 1996, Karen Santorum - wife of Rick Santorum - had a partial birth abortion. If the christians had gotten their way, she would be dead. Wasn't Santorum lucky that she lived in a country where women can get medical care for life-threatening conditions, instead of being tied to a bed, held hostage and murdered in agonizing pain as was Mrs. Halappanavar?

That's what happens when you get third-world medical care in a third-world country like Ireland. It IS third world as long as the catholic cult can influence laws. Just look at the Philippines where the mortality rate of pregnant women is as high as any African country.

I wonder if Mrs. Halappanavar would still be alive if she were Irish, or white, or even christian. Would she still be alive if she weren't Indian or hindu?

I think you 'wonder' too much. To me it sounds like your dumb azz govt needs to make up its mind...but then, when you have stories like this ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-113422... ) which flip the scales, what do you do...
I can't imagine why they didn't save the womans life...sounds like the press (and you) have already condemned without knowing "all" of the facts...

“A 31-year-old woman is dead after doctors in Ireland reportedly refused to give her an abortion as she languished in pain from an ongoing miscarriage.… A day into her hospital stay, Halappanavar asked doctors to terminate the pregnancy because she was in "agony," her water [Savita] had broken and she was shivering and vomiting. However, they said they couldn't perform the operation if a fetal heartbeat was present…”- Sydney Lupkin, ABC News Nov. 15, 2012

"’I don't do abortions, I'll tell you right now....But I'd have to tell the mother,'Your baby doesn't have a chance and to save your life, I have to do this,' said Dr. John Coppes, the medical director at Austin Medical Center-Mayo Health System in Minnesota.”

And I’m sure that some holier-than-thou male religious “believer” will say that it must have been “God’s will” that both the mother and the fetus died even though it was clearly within the power of the doctors to save the mother’s life.

Religious zealots controlled the Western World for 1,400 years and gave us no good reason to allow it to happen again.

Obamacare isn't a socialized program?
You're the only person that thinks so......but then....you've already shown what your opinion is worth.
Facts don't get in the way of your delusion.

If a person could buy you for what you're worth and sell you for what you think you're worth they could make some money.
