How could a loving God allow evil and suffering? The Bible is full of contradictions. What about people who've never heard of Jesus?
__________

Hurting people everywhere need God. Many are open to considering Him, but they often have questions they want answered before they are willing to accept Christ. As Christians, we try to communicate to the skeptic, Godís grace and His truth. An increasing number of skeptics may listen and become seekers or believers if we answer their questions attentively, respectfully and truthfully.

As you interact with skeptics, compliment them where you can. Jesus complimented the skeptical Nathanael for his pursuit of truth. Listen to their concerns. Your listening ear speaks volumes. It may surprise you to learn that your attitude can be just as important as what you know.

Here are some questions skeptics often ask. Let's see if we can answer their concerns. If you have an answer to one of the following questions please share your answer with us. It will be an education for us all. God Bless!

1. It doesn't matter what you believe as long as you are sincere.

2. Why is there evil and suffering?

3. What about those who never hear of Jesus?

4. What about all the contradictions in the Bible?

5. Isn't Christianity just a psychological crutch?

6. How can Jesus be the only way to God?

7. I could never take the blind leap of faith that believing in Christ requires.

You forgot to include the following.

1) Why do people like you misrepresent science ?

2) Why do people like you take pride in lack of knowledge ?

3) Why do people like you misrepresent atheism ?

4) Why do people like you assume you know what / how other people think, need and act?

"A fact is something that is supported by unmistakeable evidence. For example, the Grand Canyon cuts through layers of different kinds of rock, such as the Coconino sandstone, Hermit shale, and Redwall limestone. These rock layers often contain fossils that are found only in certain layers. Those are the facts.

It is a fact is that fossil skulls have been found that are intermediate in appearance between humans and modern apes. It is a fact that fossils have been found that are clearly intermediate in appearance between dinosaurs and birds.

Facts may be interpreted in different ways by different individuals, but that doesn't change the facts themselves."

Great questions Roland, I will try to answer them truthfully.
Roland_Deschain wrote:
1) Why do people like you misrepresent science ?
Answer: We donít. Much of science supports the existence and work of God.
Roland_Deschain wrote:
2) Why do people like you take pride in lack of knowledge ?
Again, we donít. Knowledge refutes knowledge. Itís important to have a least some level of Biblical knowledge to argue the things of God in a Christian forum. I would ask you, why do so many of your kind try to argue the things of God when you lack any Biblical knowledge?
Roland_Deschain wrote:
3) Why do people like you misrepresent atheism ?
Again, we donít. We represent Christianity and we try the best we can to understand from an atheistic point of view. Thatís not easy for a student of the Bible. We do the best we can.
Roland_Deschain wrote:

We donít! We simply give our best interpretation of the Scriptures. Hopefully a few Christians will try to answer these questions too. God bless!

Your position is one based on religious faith - belief without evidence. If you had evidence Christianity would not be a religion.

As for your blessings, I don't want or need them. Why are you and others like you unable to grasp this simple fact? Why did you feel the need to end you post with such (to me) meaningless bollocks?

Good for you. If all of this offends you, why do you find it necessary to come to a Christian forum and bash Christians? Many Christians have more than faith.

So your deity is part of the physical world? Science is all about explaining / understanding the physical world. BTW, in science one needs to provide a testable definition of what one is attempting to prove. Christianity does not do this. It just assumes something called 'god'.
Yesu Kristo Mwokozi wangu wrote:

The thing is, belief in the supernatural is not knowledge. It's just pretending you know the answers when in fact you don't know and are too scared to admit it.

You would have to ask the people responsibe directly. BTW, many of the atheists posting here are ex-Christians. So I guess they are in a a position to discuss scripture. Anyway, this has reminded me of another question for you.

"AFAIAC itís important to have a least some level of proper scientific knowledge (not misrepresentation from apologetics) to argue against (for example) evolution. So why do so many of your kind try to argue about science when you don't understand it in any way?"

Then understand atheists don't think your deities exist. Therefore it's impossible for athists to hate said deities. You need to grasp the simple fact it's a matter of disbelief due to lack of evidence (from an atheistic point of view), not denial. You need to stop projecting how you would like athists to be. You need to stop listening to apologetics versions of what an atheist is/is not.

I am not 'bashing' anyone. I am merely posting an opposing point of view on an open forum. If you want to post in an exclusively Christian environment I suggest you use the forums on CARM. These are heavily moderated.

http://forums.carm.org/vbb/forum.php

The thing is, correct moderation works both ways. IMHO you would not last 5 minutes in a moderated environment. Which is why you are here on Topix. Anyway, if you ever feel the need to have a civil, on topic discussion with me, you know where I am. Until then, goodbye.

Wrong!

Meaningless generality.ďmany of the atheists posting here are ex-ChristiansĒ I doubt this very much. There may be atheists here who have gone to church, for some period, because their parents or spouse made them. That does not make one a Christian!
"AFAIAC itís important to have a least some level of proper scientific knowledge (not misrepresentation from apologetics) to argue against (for example) evolution. So why do so many of your kind try to argue about science when you don't understand it in any way?"
Pass on this one. Does not apply to me.

No problemo amigo. If atheists will keep their unbelief out of my house, they wonít hear a peep from me. But since I am a Christian, Christian Forum, is my house ergo atheists come to my house and try to shove their views down our throats. Whatever ďproofĒ an atheists requires, I require the same level of proof for them to convince me I am wrong. I think that applies to most Christians. And OBTW insults and personal attacks are not evidence. Speaking of projection perhaps you should stop projecting how you think Christians are.

I don't post on CARM. I intended to start doing so but after lurking there for a while I decided against it. It's hardly a balanced situation when non-believers are prevented from posting on the Christian forums, yet Christians are allowed to post on the the non-believer forums.

Hopefully, Brother Allen Richards,

You will find (as I and many others did) that poster Roland Deschain is present purely by divine appointment.

After years of postage in this forum, I, and hundreds of other demons, have recognized that Roland is the "Linchpin" and the "Touchstone"; He is like a purifying fire and like a cleansing (lye) soap (Mal 3:2), Roland is here to "Remove the dross (you) from the silver, and out comes material for the silversmith;" - Prov 25:4

Roland always cuts thru your bullsh*t, like your Calvinist bullocks, and digs right down into the core. That's what he does.

Roland is the "James Bond" of truth and reality. You cannot win!
&fe ature=related

bow,... Bow,... BOW NOW!!!, to Roland, Mr Allen Richards,...

before it is too late for you!

How about this? Go to hell. You like that better? Christians aren't doormats for atheist idiots like you to wipe their feet on. Rather, we are told to shake off the dust of our feet in your home for a testimony against you. God will not be mocked by scum like you.

You don't have the smarts or capability of having a civil discussion. Since God and Christianity are a lie to you then you have no desire, or capability, to debate.
