In order to follow God back then, men had to be circumcised. What does slicing off the tip off a mans penis have to do with salvation?

How did women get saved back then, since circumcision was directed to men only?

Circumcision is a blood covenant that males enter into when they are eight days old. They become "married" to God. If there is such a thing as "original sin", only males inherit it. Women also enter into a blood covenant when they are married and consummate the marriage.

Circumcision is a barbaric and unnecessary practice only performed by believers of mythical nonsense.

You should practice what you preach. Go and get yourself cut.

Well this proves you know little to nothing about those "back then" days.

There was no concept of being saved - not like its defined today by ignorant Xtians.

The ritual ws not to save anyone, it was ritual of difference, to mark the Jewish male as different, as devoted to their brand of God, its was not a ritual of salvation.

You American Fundy Proty Xtians are perhaps the most ignorant of Believers the world has yet to see...totally unwilling to learn a damn thing about their Religion, its origins or anything that might help you all better understand what its all about and why!

Currently, the American Academy of Peds does not recommend routine circumcision for newborn males, stating "the evidence does not significanty prove the operation's benefit." The procedure may be recommended in older boys and men to treat phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin) or to treat an infection of the penis.
What are the risks of circumcision?... EVERY surgical procedure has its risks!
Some Circumcision Risks:
*Undo infant trauma and severe PAIN for many days and weeks!
*Risk of bleeding and infection at the site of the circumcision!
*Irritation, rash, bleeding and pained urination during healing of the glans!
*Increased risk of meatitis (inflammation of the opening of the penis)!
*Risk of injury to the penis!

Further Facts:
> The foreskin contains over 240 feet of nerves + over a thousand feet of nerve endings!
> The foreskin serves to protect the glans' and helps facilitate its sensitive sexual system!
> No accurate statistical records are kept of infant circumcision complications!
> Over 90% of world-wide infant circumcisions are performed in the U.S.A.!
> No anesthetic has proven to be safe and totally effective in circumcision pain in infants!
> Infant circumcision interrupts penile development!
> Only small number of males (less than 1%) will need circumcision for medical reasons!
> Research consistently shows that parents who C-a-Son do so mainly for social reasons!
> Annually there are increasingly more infant deaths (hemorrhages) from circumcision!
> Circumcision (unnecessarily!) causes severe and persistent pain, and infection risk!
> Circumcision constitutes a "subtraction", removing one-to-thirds of the penile system!
> 100% of infant circumcisions are done without the consent of the individual concerned!
> Many men resent having been infant-circumcised and increasingly, are requesting the procedure that medical science has developed to RECREATE the severed foreskin!
So then,... Stay aroused, all you guys!...
It's much harder to cut when its harder!...
Hardie-Har-Har!
Well not for nothing but I think this line sums up the entirety of the anti-C clan.

From your post; "No accurate statistical records are kept of infant circumcision complications!"

The reality for those males who resent their C-job, bunch of whiny little penis obsessed boy-men. Deal with it!

Well this about sums up the entirety of this info -

"No accurate statistical records are kept of infant circumcision complications!"

Nuff said. Yet not...lots of assumptions being drawn without the numbers to back them up...

Circumcision is a physical sign of the covenant. Just like keeping the Sabbath. It has been proven by modern medicine that it's a beneficial practice, but it doesn't mean what it used to. Just because someone is circumcised doesn't mean they belong to the God of Israel. What's important is the circumcision of the heart.

You clearly do not know scriptures!!! If you are out of covenant with God, you were just a pagan.
So here is Genesis 17
9 And God said to Abraham:“As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. 10 This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised; 11 and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you. 12 He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant. 13 He who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised, and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. 14 And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”
Pretty clear that during Abraham's time, verse 14 makes it clear you were to be cut off from your people if you were not.

Where do you get your information from? Circumcision has been proven to have no medical or health benefit whatsoever .

Circumcision of the heart. You're nuts.

Melbourne is in Australia, not the USA. Perhaps they don't feel the need to mutilate babies there as they do in the USA.

You obviously don't know your bible. "Circumcision of the heart" is a metaphor in the bible. Fatness of the heart refers to prosperity, pride, and corruption and they happen in that order.

Agreed...never did understand it...

So, who is it that mutilates?

Is it the AMA? or "only performed by believers of mythical nonsense"?

Doubtful it's one in the same...Me thinks it's just another 'blanket' statement from you to incite these good threads...

Carry on!

Circumcision is barbaric. Cutting an infant for no good reason is child molestation. I would not like to live in your country.
