You and other catholics have no problem crying about abortions but whenever the story is about a child being raped by one of your own church leaders........you all say!........NOTHING! DISGUSTING!
You also think the Pope is aware of what's going on at a Church in every diocese, all across the world, at all times?
Is the president of the united states briefed everyday about sexual abuse allegation at any given school in any given city?

I didn't base my post on an article I ready or anything.
I based it on the fact that the Church has over one billion member, and hundreds of thousands church parishes worldwide. Its absurd to think the Vatican is aware of what's going on in each one- or the pope gets briefed daily on each one.
You don't really believe he does, do you? Well, you are a bit of a moron, so maybe you do.
Instead of name-calling and excuses, when you get home later, why not back up your statement ---

"In the past, the Vatican would never hear of allegations, they were always handled by the local Bishops."

Here's an article that contradicts your claim -- Italy no less.

Now be a man and give us something to back up your statement, or admit you were mistaken.

1 BILLION (INDOCTRINATED) members, and most today don't even practice their faith. 1 Billion means nothing if only a few hundred million are church goers.(lol) We discussed that yesterday.

Even if every member of the catholic church practiced their faith thats only a paltry 17% of the world population down from 18% 5 years before.

If indoctrination from infancy wasn't a factor, christianity would have faded away centuries ago.

Castrate the guilty priests. Hang them. I don't care.
This is 2012 Michael. The Church IMMEDIATELY removes all priest from duty even if its a baseless ALLEGATION. They remove them anyway and investigate. In most cases, the priest gets cleared, and we move on.
You live in the past. Your disgusting mind strives to keep this in the news daily.
Studies show, people who obsess with the topic of child sexual abuse, are themselves, attracted to children. Michael, this is psychology 101, 9th grade level. Indeed, no one obsesses more than you or free mind when it comes to this subject.
Goodness, yesterday you posted some dudes you tube video and presented it as news!!!!! You're completely sick dude!
More blind denial.

No? Then back up this statement.

What studies? Your an idiot.

I will always stand up for victims of abuse, men women or children and you claim I shouldn't. What does that say about you? You insult me for talking about victims of crimes who are adults now, because YOUR church didn't report these crimes when they were young altar boys.

It makes me believe that you were a victim of abuse by a catholic priest because you always fear in talking about the issue. Is that why you keep defending the church? Because you too are a victim like so many even in your own dicoese. Pyscologists worldwide state everyone should be open in discussion about such crimes. Who was the priest(s) who abused you? You don't have to be afraid anymore.

Who cares about the trash priests who abused. What about all the bishops who systematically lied, deceived and COVEREDUP these crimes? You say nothing! WHY?

There have been abuse claims in your own diocese and that means priests in YOUR own parish would have had knowledge of these crimes and they said NOTHING! shame on them! shame on you!

Insult me all you want, who does that when you should be seeking the truth from the very leaders who failed you.

I will always defend the victims and SAY SO! More than you ever do. SAD!

Proof you say?? Are you fricken kidding me?

Michael and Richard believe for 1700 yrs, the Church in Rome was aware of allegations from all over the world. Yes, a Bishop in America 400 yrs ago, would simply write a letter, give it to the courier for a three month journey to the ocean, and then take it across to in 6months to Rome. The Pope would then write back to investigate. then the bishop would respond...... 10 yrs later, all the parties are dead, including the Pope.

Does Richard have any more proof? Lol

If there was ONLY one dicoese reporting sexual abuse then maybe the pope wouldn't know, but when 189 out of 195 dioceses JUST in america, just in the USA!! All catholic dioceses in Canada, not counting the thousands around the world report sexual abusive clergy, wouldn't you believe EVERYONE in the vatican would know about that..........A LLLOOOONGGGG TIME AGO?

You put way to much faith into the leaders of your church. One day you will learn the truth, accept it or not, but you will say MICHAEL was right all along....MICHAEL was right!

Your link from 2010 didn't work. I'm guessing in the article, they have evidence that Rome was aware of a certain allegation. I got no issue with that. I'm also guessing that "free light of catholicism" equates this to mean that Rome was always made aware of every incident throughout the world. The current Pope was head of the Vatican's abuse "investigations" before 2005. Funny how virtually all Bishops worldwide handled the situation the same way.

Worldwide, how many Bishops reported a child-rapist Priest to local authorities?

Zero.

At least one Bishop/Cardinal was aware of over 90 abusive Priests, transferred them, and kept quiet.

What was Cardinal Law's punishment?

He was given a position of honor at the Vatican, and a lavish retirement party recently.

Why do Catholics claim that Jesus is behind all of this?

DUH!!!!!!! Jesus didn't appoint a "one-true" church to protect child sex abusers and drive away souls!!!! What are Catholics thinking to say this about Jesus?

Note Jesus' words: EXCEPT. The fornicator has already broken the marriage.
I know personally of two cases of men who were married WITH CHILDREN, who gave $500 to the RCC, and had their marriages 'annulled' so that they could marry Catholic girls. Neither of the men were Catholic.
An annulment is only possible when the marriage has not been consummated.
Don't judge...only God knows who the guilty party is in a divorce. It may be both parties. One may be totally innocent, in which case they may marry again.
KayMarie
The key word used by protestants in this passage to defend multiple divorces and re-marriages is "fornication".

Here the proper interpreation is explained:

Matt. 5:31-32 - the Lord permits divorce only for "porneia." This Greek word generally means unlawful sexual intercourse due to either blood relations (also called incest) or nonsacramental unions. The Lord does not permit divorce for "moicheia" (adultery). It is also important to note that in these cases, a marriage never existed in the first place, so the Lord is not actually permitting divorce, but a dissolution of the unlawful union.

http://www.scripturecatholic.com/divorce_rema...

"I know personally of two cases of men who were married WITH CHILDREN, who gave $500 to the RCC, and had their marriages 'annulled' so that they could marry Catholic girls. Neither of the men were Catholic."

You don't know what an annulment is. Stop judging things in which you are uneducated.

"One may be totally innocent, in which case they may marry again."

You are not God, you don't have the authority to override scripture.
