Things will be getting far worse in the RCC, and it's going to last for quite a while. Ratzinger is placing hardliners in key positions throughout the hierarchy to guarantee those policies long after his death.
It's too bad. Cut of the nose to spite the face sort of thing. What an unGodly approach. I'm not into the dying martyr or self-mutilation type of thing. lol

That's actually great news; more and more people are becoming tired of those hard-liners and are leaving the church. The longer they push their venom, the more members they will lose.

Never underestimate the destructive power of stupid people in large groups.

The RCC hierarchy has counted on having such puppets and shock troops readily available to enforce/extend their hegemony. The poorer, the less educated and the more easily manipulated on an emotional level, the better.

Nicene Xiandom IS evil. Just look at it's fruits.

Most of the Mexican people I know can't afford to be obedient to the dictates of the Catholic Church. It is really a matter of simple economics.

It doesn't keep them from trying, or from passing on the RCC's fogged and imperialistic dogmas to their children.

That Calvinist, Rushdoony, didn't invent Christian Reconstructivism nor Dominionist Theology. Christendom, West and East, has been operating upon the core principles since the early 4th Century.

The history of all the Latin American peoples as well as all of our European ancestors have been directly impacted by those same benighted principles.

I don't have to enable them or help them in the nefarious mission either.

nah! I am clean. I obey the laws of God. Eat your words
No. You "obey" the ramblings of foolish men who lived in the Stone Age (Bronze Age by the end of the story) who had no clue what the world was about, and had no true desire to understand it. They made up assumptions about it, but none of it was divinely inspired!

Do you wear anything that is NOT 100% cotton or 100% wool? Do you wear 100% cotton items at the same time as you wear 100% wool items? You do realize, per the "laws of God" (aka "Leviticus"), that these are UNACCEPTABLE! I'm ready to accept that most of your wardrobe is probably rayon or polyester and very little is 100% ANYTHING, which means you don't follow or "obey" the "laws of God" at all, since you so thoughtlessly disobey one of his basic abominations.(Either ALL of the laws apply or none of them do - can't pick and choose!)

You probably have also NEVER READ the bible from one end to the other. I have - and it's one contradiction after another. Every person I know who has read the bible from cover to cover is an atheist (although, not every atheist I know has read or even opened the holy book of the religion their parents forced upon them as children). Every person I know who is "a devout [insert religion name here]" has been TOLD what is in the bible, and has never actually taken the time to read it!

Something like that anyway. Yea, for the most part.
