from krdo:

"Over the weekend, countless more Americans will look to clergy as they struggle to process a tragedy in which so many of the victims were children.

"'Every single person who is watching the news today is asking ''Where is God when this happens?'' says Max Lucado, a prominent Christian pastor and author based in San Antonio.

"Lucado says that pastors everywhere will be scrapping their scheduled Sunday sermons to address the massacre.

"'You have to address it -- you have to turn everything you had planned upside down on Friday because that's where people's hearts are,' Lucado says.

"'The challenge here is to avoid the extremes -- those who say there are easy answers and those who say there are no answers'...

"Lucado said there was an eerie irony for the Connecticut tragedy coming just before Christmas, noting the Bible says that Jesus Christ's birth was followed by an order from King Herod to slay boys under 2 in the Roman city of Bethlehem.

"'The Christmas story is that Jesus was born into a dark and impoverished world,' Lucado says.'His survival was surrounded by violence. The real Christmas story was pretty rough.'"

You mean liberals kicked Him out. I know many teachers who would welcome prayer back in the classroom.

Thank the ACLU for the "Godless" condition of schools.

Not the teachers.

People you got to have faith. God didn't choose him to kill all of them yesterday in Newtown. He put us all here to choose our own destiny. He gave his son for us but yet some people don't give a rat's tail about that, God does not show favortism one over another, it all in the faith in all mighty God that we have. Just like yesterday it could have been anywhere in America. God is not up there saying go kill little children in Newtown he don't work that way, He is a just God loves us all. Shootings have been happening all over America. It is the people that have went crazy, America is not putting God first. He has to be first remember he is a jealous God. He don't twist our arm to serve him, but we had better. That was someone yesterday that was definitely messed up. God is not a God of confusion. Pray to God he will help us if only we let him.

Posters, don't forget Lucado's advice:

"The challenge here is to avoid the extremes -- those who say there are easy answers and those who say there are no answers ..."

IMO, Lucado was on point when he compared the Newtown shooting to the senseless slaughter of the Bethlehem innocents by King Herod.

To paraphrase Shakespeare, Adam Lanza tried to out-herod Herod.

I find God in my faith in Him. It's the feeling when you know what the right thing is to do,and you do it, even when it will not benefit you. Most times it wil not cost anything, just a moment to listen or help someone. When you decide to not help or you laugh at the troubled person, that is your free will. That is your decision. This tragedy is clearly the shooters free will run amuck. Why? I think we all would like to know. I find it inconceivable that nobody saw this coming. With the question as to "why" such an emptiness, does that mean everyone decided to NOT talk to this kid?

Exactly! God gave his son so that the shooter can be forgiven and make his way into Heaven.

Proverbs 22.6 Train up a child in the way that he should go and he will not depart from this when he grows old. The Newtown, Ct. shooter was extremely intelligent but his mind, body and soul were polluted by violent video games and wickedness, as many of our young people are in today's "culture of evil". Why are we shocked when these terrible things happen when God, Jesus, and the Bible have been removed from our schools and our society in general. We need to get down on our knees and pray for this country and our children and ask for God's help in every aspect of life instead of turning our back on him. Remember this is the Christmas season, the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. MERRY CHRISTMAS(not happy holiday)

So much for Lucado's advice to avoid extremes, and
for the record, the shooter already lived in Newtown.

There is no rule or law that stops anyone from praying in school. Anyone can say a private prayer anytime they want anywhere they want. As Jesus is quoted as saying…

“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others.…But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door…”

Public prayer in public schools would only cause discord. If the Jewish kid or the Muslim kid or the Hindu kid prayed differently than the Christian kids there would be problems.
