Catholic Church Waging War on Women and Gays

“Pharmacists must seek to raise people's awareness so that all human beings are protected from conception to natural death, and so that medicines truly play a therapeutic role”

Pope Benedict XVI said Monday that pharmacists have a right to use conscientious objection to avoid dispensing emergency contraception or euthanasia drugs - and told them they should also inform patients of the ... via Fables of the reconstruction

This is what hurts about being 'Catholic'. Particularly a gay Catholic.
If you look into Catholic Church history you will find that the Church's response to many things, such as, attacks on it's beliefs (edicts), is much the same as our own military's response to accusations of wrong doing - that is, cover ups and scapegoats. And the worst thing about it is that God knows all about the Church's short comings.

the Catholic church has always been anti-women... look at their record. They make women subservient to men in every case. The Jews are just as bad... can't touch a woman on her period? Get real.

God is pretend anyway, religion is all myth and folklore.

I really can't understand why someone with the reputation of Gannet News Service which owns Topix
gives credence to people on blogs.

This isn't news, just some jerk that likes to vent his anti-Catholic bigotry.

What a stupid headline to name the issue. "Waging War" the Catholic view is the historical christian view. It isn't teaching anything novel. You know what happened to Onan, when he used birth control. God punished him to death. Do you know how long ago that was. God layed down the rules from day one. If you got something against the Catholic Church you got something against all true bible christians. You may as well call the headline "The Bible Wages War Against Women and Gays". But you folks are so overwhelmingly anti-catholic, you need spiritual preparation H. What a shame.

Cool,

I've known you for 2 years now.

I can only say that you are obviously searching ... and you have not yet discarded Religion in the least.

Otherwise, you would never have lingered here ... "That" would be illogical!

"Spiritual preparation." Hmmmm, that's a new one. Is it anything like spiritual education? Or religious knowledge? Hate to break it to you, "genius," all three mean the same thing: IGNORANCE. Which we all know that monument to cruelty, oppression and SLAVERY supports wholeheartedly. So you'll pardon us for having a good laugh, at yours and pope benny's expense.

These anti-Catholic homofascist rants remind me of the anti-Catholic crusades of the 19th Century. Most of the rest of us have moved on beyond that sort of prejudice, bigotry, and hate, but obviously homofascists have not!

The Catholic church has always believed that abortion is wrong and is part of the over teachings. There are also other churches that teach this also. ITS SIMPLY THE WAY IT IS. If a particular church states this is what God teaches then either be a part of that church organization or get out of it and go somewhere that you feel meets your needs, but remember you may find your self at the wrong end of the tunnel someday, meaning that I won't say one way or the other, not going to judge, but like anything be careful your not leaning towards something that you personally don't agree with when it is actualy a true teaching. I don't believe that if Christ was standing next to you that He would tell you to abort your child because you had sex before marriage and decided to excercise the power of creation thats within you both with no commitment to each other then to satify those urges within you mixed with, yes some true feelings of love, but yet without taking responsibility for the consequences of your actions WHEN YOU ARE A MEMBER OF, FOR EXAMPLE THE Catholoic Church, Mormon church or any number of churches, and there are many that believe and teach the abortion is wrong, except often times in cases of incess or rape it is permitted. What I am focused on here in clear terms is that fact, if you don't believe a certain way, either figure it out or go away somewhere else. I know if I belong to a club and I don't like the way they are pronoucing certain idea's I may just leave if I can't find some truth in it. Why argue and get mad at an organization that you belong with if they say its doctrine of the church. any would like to think they can sleep around, live however and at the last moment, they can say, oh forgive me, I had my fun, now I am coming home to Heaven. There is to much tearing down rather then moving on I believe. By the way, I am not commenting on any one elses comments at present.
