ALL of my cells are living, human, and developing. Should I be prevented from scraping any off on the grounds I'm 'taking human life' or something?
They're a "baby" if they've been born. In the womb they're a fetus whether you want one or not.
If you make aboriton illegal, you force women to either bear an unwanted child or obtain an illegal abortion. No strawman at all.
A fetus is a developing human being. So is a toddler. Your fingernails are not.

Usage of the term "fetus" doesn't dehumanize anything as you wish it would; it's not a fetal pig or something that becomes human once it leaves the womb.

No, it encourages AIDS. Preventing people from using common-sense methods, cheap and easy methods at that, of avoiding AIDS is in fact a criminal and inhumane act.
This Pope shoujldn't be allowed to resign, he should be tried for crimes against humanity.
Thing is I have not used a condom in over 15 years (Since my vasectemy) and despite a very active sex life I have yet to pick up any STD.s.
Then when you are in a monogamous relationship your chances of them is nil.

This is how Liberals support the right to Freedom of speech. The Pope does not have the legal power to force anyone outside the Vatican to do anything, all he can do is suggest and give his opinion . But I guess Liberal believe its a crime to say things they dont agree with.

No, your chance of acquiring a sexually transmitted disease is not zero if you are in a monogamous relation. Your sex partner may have engaged in sex with someone else and the resultant disease could be transmitted to you. Are you aware of this possibility?

The Pope has the power over the actions of many people due to the belief that he determines who gets entry to heaven or hell. It's because of the incitement from the RCC that a number of abortion providers have been murdered, gays are persecuted and anti-AIDS measures are sabotaged.

Pope Benedict XVI had a meeting with Uganda politician Rebecca Kadaga who supports the "kill the gays" bill. He allowed her the "privilege" of getting on her knees to kiss his hand. That's a benefit offered to very few Vatican visitors but it was given to a woman who desires the death penalty or life imprisonment for gay sex. Here's a photo:

Vatican officials can now claim that they never endorsed Ms. Kadaga's efforts or the murder of abortion doctors. But we all know that's standard lies given through properly nuanced statements.

Still repeating the publicly-debunked Kadaga story? LOL
Do you have a Ugandan Press card, Stanley? You'll repeat any lie you hear, so you'd probably be editor for them or something.

I suppose if I told your kids they could safely drink from the big blue bottle, that wouldn't be encouraging them to poison themselves, right?

How about we teach all schoolkids that christians are bullet proof and it's perfectly safe to shoot them?

If I encouraged the killing of you and your entire family, that would be 'pure' behaviour, right?

After all, unborn fetuses are far more important than living breathing human beings..........

Idiotic argument.

Regard for the unborn renders one incapable of regard for those already born?

Why not just throw every talking point form the manual out at one time and have done with it?

I think that the fools who accept fake miracles (e.g. icons oozing blood, apparitions to crazy women) would believe that the Pope has that authority. He's got magic powers, direct from Jesus.

What's been debunked? His Holiness admitted an evil woman into his presence and allowed her to kiss his hand. The Pope knew that she supported the "kill the gays" bill and people who saw the photos would be inclined that he also supported it. The Ugandans believe he gave a blessing and it sure seems to me that he did. The Vatican can claim he did something else but that's doubletalk, or "nuance".

I didn't know we were on a first name basis, Dan. But no, I don't believe any lie I hear and that includes the lies you've been telling on this thread. The Pope met with Ms. Kadaga and that's a privilege given to very few who enter the Vatican. In doing so he gave approval to her wickedness. However, I accept the possibility that he's senile and didn't know what the hell he was doing. That's a strange combination: senility and infallibility. The triune God sure acts in strange ways.

I dont think it was ever doctrine that the Catholic Church determine who does or does not go to heaven. The only authority the Pope has is Moral not legal authority.. If you dont like what the Pope say, dont listen to him, no one is going to toss you in jail for that.
Blaming the Pope for anyone dying of Aids makes as much sense as blaming Cheech and Chong for some one dying from drug use. People need to take responsibility for their own actions

My fingernails (which I was not talking about) still grow. I was talking about all my LIVING cells, which indeed are developing. They are not "toddlers," and no one's arguing that toddlers should be aborted. Your arguments seem awfully convoluted.

Fetuses are undeveloped proto-humans in the womb, and vary from a small collection of multiplying cells to a near-human ready for birth. No one ever said any of these were "not human," only that we can decide whether we want the process of development to continue or to end.

If it's really monogamous on both sides, of course. But condoms still help prevent STDs, which was my point.

Then you'd be stupid or dishonest in saying so. The Pope has ENORMOUS power over the lives and thought processes of Catholics worldwide, is the leader of their Church, and his word is law to many if not most Catholics.

"Legal power to force" something wasn't what I was claiming, but you're being incredibly disingenuous to pretend he has NO power.

I DO believe it's a crime to urge people not to protect themselves from disease because of th epolicies of a religious organization, yes. Sorry you think American guarantees of free speech apply here, somehow.

The church doesn't teach that the Pope can decide who goes to heaven or hell. You're wrong. Being aggressively wrong still means you're wrong.

Kadaga didn't receive a papal blessing, Stanley. Sorry. The story was debunked. You ignoring that fact doesn't make it go away.

He's a head of state and he sees foreign delegations all the time. You're just blowing smoke.

Human fetuses are human beings in a stage of development. That's a fact, not an opinion.

There is no such thing as a "proto-human". It's human or not human.

It defies logic to declare a right to end a process of human development by our own volition, especially since many states decalre it a crime if another makes that decision and acts upon it.

It isn't doctrine and never has been.

The Pope's only "legal" authority is with church or canon law. Not civil law.

Their lesson on the condom use is based on personal responsibility as you describe. Throwing condoms at people reduces them to animals.
