Lifting the Cuban embargo

Nov 23, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Gleaner

Sometime ago, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton publicly shared the view that the United States' embargo against Cuba helps the Castros, noting, "It is my personal belief that the Castros do not want to see an end to the embargo, and do not want to see normalisation with the United States." Clinton said in the same interview that "we're open to ... (more)

Are you Americans FREE in your "Democracy"? When you get some time,(which you seem to have a lot of), read all 30-plus pages, of the American Patriot Act. Then, look at how much safer the citizens of Socialist Cuba are, than the American Citizens are, in the hands of their government. You will, quite frankly, be quite shocked, in my humble opinion. The Patriot Act, is all about citizen control, or the lack thereof.
I love you camarada, you be a commie like me! Canada sucks tooo, Venezuela & Cuba be better...nice communist countries!

No more comments from me for a while "Multi-Names". I'm going to take a holiday on the beautiful beaches in Santa Maria, or Cayo Coco, or Varadero, Cuba, and give some more dineros to that beautiful country to help raise the standard of living to its people ultimately. Perhaps some of you Americans should try that. Send me your e-mail addresses and you too, can observe what a marvelous country Cuba is. To get a more realistic sense of what it's like in Cuba, perhaps you could shine a sun-lamp on yourself, while watching the video,(and while you're at it mix up a Pina-Colata with some fine Cuban Rum). Oh, that's right, your government won't let you go to a beach,(or enjoy yourself in any way, in Cuba,) because it might add to the coffers of the Castro Boys,(and ultimately, to the citizenery). Well, What a shame! Perhaps it's time to stop the 50-plus year Embargo eh? Talk to your government about it - the same embargo that the United Nations has outlawed by a vote of (approx.) 188-3, against the embargo, for the last 20-plus years. I will sure remember to feel sorry for you Americans, while I'm enjoying the great Cuban hospitality, without a Wallmart, or a McDonalds, in sight. Too bad eh?

it is unethical to keep the dictatorship in power, the people will not benefit in that represive regime, it is just a place for cheap vacations and cheap prostitutes.....that is deplorable!
Hmmmm what exactly has the embargo accomplished in 54 years?

Yet you exect it to work now?

Lol you are delight but take it from a Cuban, you are NOT missing out by not marrying a Cuban.

I suspect a year or two you will be able to travel there but again you are not missing out because the culture is so different than USA that it is like two different planets.

Hell, the culture in Miami is different than the rest of USA. I do not consider this America.

The USA needs to invade Cuba, dismantle the government and hand the island back to the Mafia. They did a much better job of running the joint. And they were more ethical than the Communistas.
Never mind Cuba, if the MAFIA ran Miami-dade and Hialeah and there was NO violence, I suspect they would steal less, run the place better and we might finally have a real police dept who enforced reckless driving traffic laws.

Old Hillary is on the mark this time. Cubans are holding their own and are slowly improving in spite of the American's (Monument to Stupidity), embargo. They would be better off attending to the other 75-or-so countries that they are trying to push "Regime-Changes" in, to push their ideas of "Democracy", on. America, Keep your idea of the 'golden dream' to yourself please. Use the trillions of dollars you waste on paid dissidents and insurgents to destabilize duly-elected governments, to help your own citizens. Look at your 16-trillion-dollar debt for instance. The interest alone amounts to over 100-Billion dollars A MONTH. Since you have abandoned the gold-standard you have nothing to back up this debt with, but oil, and if Iran can get the various oil-buying nations on board to accept the Yen, EU dollars, or any other currency but the US dollar, the US Dollar becomes worthless. Why do you think the US is stirring up reasons to attack Iran, because of a false nuclear ability threat? They are just trying to justify attacking Iran to stop their plan of changing the currency paid for oil around the world. Take a look at the big picture folks! If you people had ANY idea of the many bad things your government is causing around the world, there would be riots in every city of the U.S.A.
Another question to ask your congressman/woman; Why did the D.H.S.(Dept. of Homeland Security), order 450-million rounds of Soft-Point (MUSHROOM) bullets and 300-million rounds of .232 calibre,(MUSHROOM) bullets,(The size that NATO soldiers' weapons use)? These bullets are designed for KILLING, not for target practice. The D.H.S., supplies police forces etc., NOT THE MILITARY! NATO troops are training in the U.S.A., right now! Why do they need this many MUSHROOM bullets that are not the type of ammunition that is used for target practice? If I was an American Citizen, I would be asking my government officials, "WHAT IS GOING ON HERE FOLKS"?
Batista was a self serving, brutal, corrupt pile of feces.
The Castro brothers are self serving, brutal, corrupt pile of feces and sadly just like Egypt ,replacinng pharaoh with pharaoh the new Cuban president will be the same , ESP if they come out of Miami's politics .

I dont understand why we have an embargo against Cuba. Uplifting it would be a huge benefit to both us and them and hopefully others will see this and want it uplifted too because in reality, the embargo is doing nothing but hurting ourseleves in the long run

The embargo will be lifted soon enough but all kidding aside I see nothing "husband worthy" in either White or Black Cubans .

If you want "exotic" , consider men from Barbados who are very nice people and not narcistic miami trash like what I have experienced since moving here from the majority of "my" junta.
