And yet they claim they don't have the money to pay the victims of their pedophile priests??

Just more proof the catholic church should be banned, or at least taxed as any other for-profit business.

If their argument is that gay marriage will somehow bring the return of Christ, what are they afraid of? Are they just stalling, trying to get their house in order before that happens?

one million can buy a lot of meals and blankets for the homeless. If Mother Teresa had a dollar to her name, would she donate it to fight same sex marriage or give it to a poor person so they could eat?

I agree that if they want to involve themselves in political issues they should lose their tax exemption.

Italy recently took away the Vatican's tax exemption. USA should follow suit and stop all tax exemptions on all religions since they all do try to influence politics. Now that would certainly help the economy!

RE: Catholic Church Ponied Up More Than $1 Million To Fight Marriage Equality
..... There are very many belief systems all over this planet and they are kept in business by the payments to them of their believers. They can, and do, make their own rules and write their own literature propagating their teachings for centuries.
..... Their employees must obey the laws of their land, and if any of them misbehave then it's up to the victims to help the police collect sufficient evidence for a court conviction. Victims that keep violations secret are guilty of helping lawbreakers to continue their activities, hurting others too.
..... If they behave like charities then they should be treated like any other charity; if they behave like for-profit businesses, then they should be treated like other for-profit businesses.
..... It used to be that belief system had a lot of powers, but they misused them and therefore "their teeth were pulled" by the secular authorities.
..... Those who keep paying money or equivalents to belief systems are, in fact, voting to keep them going, however good or bad they may be for some believers and/or non-believers.

They should be ashamed.........I worked for several different catholic churhes over the years and was shocked to see the amount of money that is donated threw wills and donations from familys and singles. And to see how much is wasted or invested.
Along with srterling silver, crystal... and on and on that was sometimes thrown out.
Shame shame shame when there are so many people in need.

Only anti-gays think anyone's sexuality can be "influenced".

If a child is gay or straight, there's nothing you or I or anyone else can do about it.

All we can do is offer our love, support, and acceptance to help them find their way in the world.

It's a shame your parents didn't give that to you. Maybe if they had, you wouldn't be so screwed up right now.

Or maybe you were just born that way.......

maybe you should ask yourself who Jesus had in mind whenhe said what he said in Matthew 5:11.

You?

While it wouldn't be so nice for those religions that have not made comments on political options, I do agree. At such a time, when the economy is not the greatest, it's best to have as many people as possible help and contribute.

Not arguing, but a homosexual cannot "turn" anyone gay. You either are or you aren't, or you're bisexual. I'm straight by the way, but the hatred of some homophobes leads to gaybashings/murder. NOBODY deserves that. I think all people should simply be accepted for what they are, and never, ever bullied or made fun of.

Hope you have a good day :)

That's a reply that any immature third grader could have made.
Latex is correct, "There is nothing in your posts to suggest an education." You simply regurgitate queer boilerplate and buzzwords.
Since you are Canadian, I asked you once why gay marriage was an easier sell in Canada than in the US. You simply responded with more queer boilerplate and buzzwords, nothing new or of substance. You sound like every other generic gay action hero wannabe.
