This is an inflammatory article aiming to feed the sectarian feeling,it is very intimidating to Syrians,it is understanble the fear of Christians when seeing the lunatics gulf spending billions on trying to replace a secular government in Syria by a stone age mentality leaders.
The pope visit was a good reminder to the Islamist that Syria is where Christianity began and Damascus is biblical, and Jewish and Muslim lived with them through the ages .
these Wahabis and Salafists decide with their petrodollars to politicise their religion and use it to feed their narcissism and bully the ME and impose their will on the poor and ignorant, they have destroyed the reputation of Arabs by linking it with Islam.
Arabs existed long before Islam.

Pope Benedict XVI cautioned that the "desire for democracy" and "freedom" was praiseworthy so long as it encompassed religious forbearance.
Lebanon had a long civil war and recovered.

America has the habit of aiding Salafists--Afghanistan, Libya, and now Syria--and than spending billions of dollars in fear of these religious zealots as well as conducting a war that has no foreseeable end. And, for all the loud talk about how Christian we our as a country, we actively support those who reject religious tolerance and do nothing to aid Christians living in Syria. Hypocrisy must be our middle name.

Correction:

The US doesn't give a shit about christians in the ME, it's only interested in Israel.

US politicians are completely besoted by Israel; even Nethanyahu makes jokes about it.
All US presidential candidates have first to be veted by AIPAC.
