What if there is no purgatory?

After we die - it seems to make sense we need cleansing of our souls in order to reach heaven. We cannot have the holiness to be in God's presence without this.

But consider this:
If there is no purgatory, then we must simply have to lean on the power of the blood shed for us on the cross to receive forgiveness and cleansing from sin.
If there is no purgatory, then we must rely on Christ to lead us to Heaven and not on the RC church's treasury of merit and system of confession.
If there is no purgatory, we must confess that all sin leads to Hell, not just "mortal sin"

If there is no purgatory, then we can rely on the many promises found in the Bible showing that we can have assurance of eternal life in Christ.

For if there is no purgatory, then Jesus's death on the cross must be a finished work, a once-for-all work of salvation for the believer who trusts in it for his soul's destiny!

Isn't purgatory just a Catholic thingy? I know it's not biblical; well, unless a lot of words are twisted and passages taken out of context.

If Jesus's blood was not sufficient, purgatory would be necessary.

If purgatory is true, then Jesus did an incomplete work of dying for our sins on the cross. Its an infinite price to pay, and if we have to pay some of that, its still an infinite debt we are left to pay! Impossible!
