what a joke ,an atheist leading socialist gov who supports homosexuals humping each other up the backside and lesbians going down one each other is going on about things 20 years old that have long been dealt with by police, this is a witch hunt by femes and lefties, the labour party has no moral authority over anything only the power of physical force.

Give her, her due here, I am not a fan in the slightest of Gizzards but this has been brewing for years and noone else has had the guts to be bothered to look into it regardless of many times it has been raised. Of course it should be done never the less, if only to give the victims (who are still living with the pain) some justice by seeing these mongrels in jail where they should have been put decades ago, if the men of the day in power had any balls.

So what it still pays them welfare and recognizes them as couples when they are also perverts like pedophiles. While pedophiles in the church have been kicked out and arrested and jailed, these other perverts homosexuals and lesbians get protected by labour party laws. They even elect a lesbian to finance minister and almost half of the labour party supported the idea of gay marriage.

What are you on about . These pedos have long been arrested and thrown in jail. The catholic church has also changed its screening process to filter out judas pedophile priests who are a small minority. But you have extremists here exagerrating things alot like the police investigator in NSW behind this inquiry and victims who really would love to see the whole church fall as well as atheists, gays. This is about the hunter valley in NSW, so why have now all Australian churches with many good people and many good people now going to have there situation and reputation tarnished by a few perverts in NSW.If theres an unkown pedo there in the hunter valley he should be arrested, the whole institution should not have to suffer and have there reputations tarnished just because of a few bad apples. It should be confined to NSW.Most Australian priests are good people who serve there communities, but there are some people trying to destroy the christian and catholic church in Aus and elsewhere including gays, atheists, feminists and muslims.

You protest too much - unless you have something to hide.
The inquiry is clearly intended to cover all agencies involved in caring for children, including government facilities.
How can this possibly be a bad thing?
There have been cases in every state involving religious figures, not only Catholics, and plenty where abuse has occurred in state care.

Sorry Aho, was going to let this go but can't -because it's just not right!

Gillard has had 4 years to do something and she didn't - she's been asked plenty of times. The Libs had 11 years to do something, and they didn't - they were asked plenty of times. No government has done anything of any consequence in the past.

But it is the Catholic Church which should have done this instead of covering it up and shifting the priests all over the place when there was a complaint. Why didn't George Pell do anything? He was on TV saying he's glad there is to be an inquiry. FFS!!!!! Glad??? HE could have instigated one himself!

Now Gillard has no choice... the police, the coalition and the people shamed her into it. It was the coverage on Lateline the other night, the exposé by Detective Chief Inspector Peter Fox, which finally forced her into it. If you didn't see it, watch it on-line... very strong words were said by Fox, he didn't hold back.

I said in another thread that she'd get the "credit"... I was right!

SHE deserves NO credit!

NO politician is worth a piece of shit regarding this fiasco - and that goes for Latham, Carr, Hockey etc doing nothing about the James Hardy asbestos cover-up which will go on killing people for many many decades to come. ONE MAN was responsible in getting justice for that sham, and he died doing it - heaps of people had to die before anything was done - how many people have committed suicide because every gov refused to take on the Catholic church?

So, give "credit" to Gillard??? Over my f'in dead body!

No, I just know there are alot of good people in the catholic church and ive never come across a Pedo priest once having been a student at 4 catholic institutions. What I did come across was a lot of good catholic people. We have a heavy pro leftist, pro gay media emphasis on a few bad apples,
So is the enquiry going to discover all the pedo muslims ?

The enquiry is fairly amorphous in terms of timeline and end-date, but it does include all religious institutions; so it would seem that the Catholic Church is not alone in being examined.
Also under examination are all public institutions that deal with children. It's quite wide-ranging.

Gillard has just said she wants a royal commission into the sexual abuse of children in the care of the Catholic church....seems she like everyon elses doesn't believe the church is impartial and that this is now what is needed.....and I absolutely agree no body should be allowed to have internal investigations it leads to cover ups and they are saying that is exactly what has happened that those in charge new about these priests and all they did was shunt them around to abuse more kids...so they are just as guilty and should be charged with failing to report incidents of sexual abuse.

But it is not just about the Catholics - why do you feel you are being singled out?
And it is not "a heavy pro leftist, pro gay media emphasis" at play. Most of those commenting in support of the inquiry here wouldn't even use your piss on Gillard if she was on fire.
"A few bad apples"? Well that is enough to tarnish an entire organisation sometimes. Hopefully the Catholic church will take this opportunity to weed out the offenders. As someone else has already commented, a shame the church didn't see fit to do this itself.
Muslims? Dunno what that has got to do with it. As far as I can see, ALL religions are included (as well as state agencies).

This isn't the first time a preist has been guilty of sexually assulting children but it is rampant....the Irish have finally admitted to it, America, Australia....do you think these people have all made this up....you are upset because your church and you feel even you being a Catholic believer are being attacked....have you for one minute thought about these people who have suffered for years because of what has been done to them by those of your faith....I would have thought the sexual abuse of one child is abhorrant(and you would feel it more so, if it was yours) but this is many children over many years by many priests and what I would be asking myself is how can I be a part of something that covered up the abuse of these kids for decades...and after it was reported to them they just moved them somwhere else to do it to more children and when they did it again they just moved them again and so on.....just because it didn't happen to you in your church, you can't say it didn't happen to someone else in your church, how would you know, the people that weren't molested are probably saying the same thing as you, don't you think.

Thanks A, I thought you of all people would understand.

I have my reasons to be very relieved this is happening and one is, I looked after enough of the damaged ones in hospitals to have no love left for the filth who hide behind their religion to satisfy their dirty little habits - and I have no respect for those who do nothing when they know what's going on.

Pell's in it up to his neck so he won't have much left to be happy about when this all comes out. He's a nasty arrogant piece of goods who treated victims as if they were dirt and of no consequence. Well his turn's coming soon too.

Fox was on Lateline again tonight, he's really stuck his neck out to do this and will probably loose his job over it.

People just love to hate whistleblowers don't they! But people love to love the liars and cheats as long as they tell them what they 'want' to hear.

Want to put a little bet on that? I bet they don't get touched. Gov's didn't have the guts to take on the Catholic church, what makes you think they'd be game to go anywhere near the muslims? If I'm wrong I'll be very happy to pay up and admit I was wrong. That doesn't happen very often... that I admit it I mean... ;)
