from Worcester Telegram & Gazette:

"Bishop Fisher was ordained a Catholic priest in 1980 and served as a parish cleric before going to Rome for studies.

"However, he took a leave of absence to examine other life options and later married his wife."

So getting married to a woman is now a "life option" in TEC?

You really can't have it both ways Joe. Mad because they are gay and mad because they aren't. Make up your mind....

LOL!!!.... Well,... Of course. Getting married certainly IS a "life option" in TEC. We definitely encourage that among our members and for all who seek a mate in this life. But, as for the story of this man and his wife and their journey that has led him to become a bishop of a Diocese in TEC ...

I don't know how you got to the question of how their journey has anything to do with that! But still, the fact that you did is a fair explanation of how disjointed your reasoning logic actually is. And that, says the commentator, "...is the Rest of the story."

The man was a Roman Catholic priest when he took his leave of absence to examine his "life options." Apparently, one of his options included getting married to the person who is now his wife.

For the past 12 years he has been an Episcopal priest, serving at Grace Episcopal in Millbrook. His wife, also an Episcopal priest has been serving at the thriving St. Thomas Episcopal in Armenia, N.Y. for the past 6 years. The two priests together have three grown children.

Nothing in the story presented says that his getting married was in any way a "life option" in TEC, as you suggested above. The story says that after being married, and pursuing his "options," friends encouraged him to pursue his calling in ministry by petitioning to become a priest in TEC.

That he did at least before twelve years ago. Apparently, at some point in their lives together, she did, too.

Looks like the two of them are continuing to do a great job in their ministry and discipleship in Christ Jesus.

May God continue to Fully Bless them,

Rev. Ken

So that's what TEC is calling a church marriage ceremony these days, or is Holy Matrimony now only a "life option" so as to "dumb it down" for gay nuptials?

Then why is a SACRAMENT being refered to as a "life option"?

What are you? Nuts?

These two people got married 25 years ago.

The "life options" bit was a description of what Doug chose to do while in his capacity as a Roman Catholic. Maybe that is a Roman Catholic term. Ya think?

Regardless of who came up with a name for it, such a choice or choices are a matter of "life options," anyway.

The story was placed in a Massachusetts newspaper. Why don't you ask your journalist friend who wrote it what he or she meant?

Feeling maroonish these days or just dumbed down with too much turkey?

She's doing fine with a real life.

Try it someday, you might like it but it might be hard for you, You can't just close a window if a real human is with you, You can't pretend.

I don't think you could handle it.....

Let's take a brief inventory...I have been in Mexico for the last 14 days living the great life in Ajijic....the weather is 80/50 for most of the year. The people are sweet. I have been to church and know lots of folks here. My family is all here and life is good. Have to go back to the USA on Thursday but I'll come back really soon. 4 years since last time but not again. I pity poor Joe DeCaro...I wonder what his priest will say when he gets my letter?
