Real Catholics don't pit a dissenting group against Christ's own Magisterium

I understand, but I dropped out of that religion a long time ago. Made an attempt to return, but found it teaching the same baseless, man-made tales they always taught. I was hoping there was more realism.

What you fail to understand is that just because you are unable to make the step of belief needed to be Catholic that doesn't mean the teachings of the Catholic Church are "baseless, or man-made tales." If you want "realism" then any church be it Christian, Buddist, Muslim etc. will not fill you need for "realism".

Pope's head-on response to critics of Church teachings
CWN - December 07, 2012
Pope Benedict XVI provided direct answers to critics of Catholic teaching, both inside and outside the Church, in a December 7 address to members of the International Theological Commission.

That would go with the "step of faith" I wrote of in my post. There is the reality of faith being offered as a gift. As with any gift worth anything one can freely reject it. Some do reject the gift of faith and that is their choice. I don't down someone for this choice as it is not my place to do so.

Pardon the hell out of me. It looks like the majisterium is guilty of pitting itself against itself. Jesus Christ said that a house divided against itself can not stand.

"It looks like the majisterium is guilty of pitting itself against itself."

Fancy not knowing that the Magisterium is infallible when teaching doctrine and dogma and individual actions or teaching contrary to this teaching simply does not qualify as faithful. That’s why there are so many sects and groups including SSPX.

Mixed gatherings of non-Catholics with Catholics have been reportedly held in various places, where things pertaining to the Faith have been discussed against the prescriptions of the Sacred Canons and without previous permission of the Holy See. Therefore all are reminded that according to the norm of Canon 1325 § 3 laypeople as well as clerics both secular and regular are forbidden to attend these gatherings without the aforesaid permission. It is however much less licit for Catholics to summon and institute such kind of gatherings. Let therefore Ordinaries urge all to serve these prescriptions accurately.

These are to be observed with even stronger force of law when it comes to gatherings called “ecumenical”, which laypeople and clerics may not attend at all without previous consent of the Holy See.

Moreover, since acts of mixed worship have also been posed not rarely both within and without the aforesaid gatherings, all are once more warned that any communication in sacred affairs is totally forbidden according to the norm of Canons 1258 and 731,§ 2.

Given at Rome, at the premises of the Holy Office, on June 5th 1948.

Petrus Vigorita, Notary

The original Latin version of this document can be found in the Acta Apostolicae Sedis XL (1948), p. 257.

After 50 years of the Vatican II Church, there's practically nothing left of Catholicism in Europe!

Study: Most Catholic Colleges No Longer Require Catholic Theology

Catholic colleges that have maintained a strong religious identity also have the strongest core curricula, according to a new study from The Cardinal Newman Society (CNS). The study finds that students at most other U.S. Catholic colleges can avoid the study of Catholic theology altogether.

Dr. Kimberly Shankman, dean of Benedictine College and a research fellow for the CNS Center for the Advancement of Catholic Higher Education, finds that Catholic colleges generally devote a larger share of undergraduate requirements to general education than other U.S. colleges. Many also require particular courses for all students instead of offering a menu of electives, as is common in most American colleges today.
