Babylons Hanging Gardens were man made. Every hour slaves had to fill the pond with water. The Garden of Eden was Gods creation, perfect, He intended that the whole earth would become that way. Guess what? It's still His plan, His origional purpose for this earth will never change. It will become reality.

Gee, it must be great to be so sure of all that!

But in all fairness, you may be right, who knows? None of us were there.

I think a boycott of Soul Train should be implemented as well as boycotting any thing to do with Jamie Foxx.

Jamie Foxx committed a grave blasphemy on the Soul Train awards when he called Barack Obama "our Lord and Savior!"

All of the below is disgusting:

" "It's like church over here. It's like church in here. First of all, give an honor to God and our lord and savior Barack Obama. Barack Obama," he said.

Since the 2008 election, several have attempted to deify Barack Obama.

ABC's Jake Tapper noticed the messianic tone of Obama's first presidential campaign and wrote: "It's as if Tom Daschle descended from on high saying,'Be not afraid; for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all the people: for there is born to you this day in the city of Chicago a Savior, who is Barack the Democrat.'"
Jamie Foxx calls Barack Obama 'our lord and savior'

In November 2010, Newsweek declared him "god of all things" on its cover, and first lady Michele Obama once declared of her husband: "This President has brought us out of the dark and into the light.

Topic should be changed to "Share the Guilt & Fear of Being Catholic & Lock Yourself into Dante's Inferno"....it would be a far more accurate description.

Peace

I have noticed a definite shift, a turning point, a step to far, that has taken place with this last election, here in the U.S. It is a loss of the sense of sin.

It will be harder now, in our lifetime, as the sense of sin is lost by our culture. But it will be more a contrast between those who have a virtuous life, and those who do not.

Hi Robert,

Topic "Share Your Joy of Being Catholic" - I don't see many joyful Catholics here at all. They just fight and insult.

My best friend is the best Catholic I've ever known. She's amazing.

I recall on my previous dips into this forum, you and me having a few conflicting thoughts Sherlayne. I must compliment you though on your post as quoted. You have so accurately and brilliantly summed up this topic.

I also recall that you and your husband were both experiencing ill health. It is good to see that you are still as sharp as ever, and I hope your husband is still coping Sherlayne.

Hello Sherlayne old friend

I see this thread is not as active as it use to be....

I think we have various reasons for being on the thread, and some of those are met, and some not met. People move on to more relevant things in their life.

I remember when I left, it was a discussion between more conservative minded, and those of more liberal. It was always respectful...

Times have changed....It seems the threads overall have run an "idealistic" course, and now seem to operate on polarized views. But that is more a cultural norm, as we have been exposed to "fighting" in opposite corners in the news media rather than being informative....

I must admit I'm pleasantly surprised at your VERY kind and charitable post. I really did not enjoy arguing with you. I'm old and I don't wish to leave this earth being nasty to some people. So I thank you for taking the time to say nice things to me.

Just recently I've seen an improvement in my husband. His heart and lungs will certainly not rejuvenate, but finally he's nearly his old self. What a relief! I worry far more about him than I do myself. He's such a good man, and he lives his faith, he really does. We have our first grandchild, a boy, born 10/11/12. Easy date to remember, huh? He was born C-section because my DIL is so tiny and he was 8 lbs., 15 oz. We have much to be thankful for; her first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and we ALL sobbed.

My illness supposedly is not going to kill me, but it's very crippling. I spend about 99% of the time in my hosp. bed (here in the living room). It will never go away, but I know there are many people worse off. And, as I said, I hope not to leave this earth when my time does come in anger - I hope I manage to leave some peace with some people. Life (death) is horribly unpredictable. I lost an old friend 2 days ago and she was 2 years younger than me. Just goes to show you never know. I only wish I knew what to believe in, you know? Maybe when I do go, I'll still be in "search mode". I don't think searching is a sin, at least I pray it isn't. I hope you're well, and that we can be friends from here on out. I sincerely wish you and your loved ones well. Maybe I'm mellowing in my old age - which would be good for me!! Take care. I'm truly sorry for past smarta** remarks! Hope to talk to you soon.
