People have a view of history-- some of whom happen to be atheists.

Atheism is simply no-faith in gods, you moron.

As well you should NOT-- it will SUFFER AND APPEAR INFERIOR EVERY TIME.

Modern secular morality is SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY to your ugly bible's.

Slavery? Bible's for it. Secularism is against it.

Women's rights? Bible's against it. Secularism is for it.

Ritualized murder? Bible's for it. Secularism is against it.

Eye for an Eye barbarism? Bible's for it. Secularism is against it.

Women are property? Bible says yes. Secularism says no.

Children are property? Bible says yes. Secularism says no.

Shall I go on revealing the UGLY that is your bible?

I'm simply putting the verse OUT THERE. It is what it is: a promise of unlimited wishes.
But you LIE about what it REALLY is, because the TRUTH is so ... stupid.
<laughing>
But you are quite stupid, are you not?
so you agree with my point. you think that those who think that that verse is a promise of unlimited wishes are stupid. yet that is exactly what you think it says. lol. the only difference is that you don't believe it to be true. the fact is you're both wrong and you're both stupid in your own way.

<quoted text>ok, then don't call me an apologetic. because 70 years ago the Bible still said that moses was married to an ethiopian.
So what?

Moses would have been as dark-skinned as that hypothetical Ethiopian-- had Moses been a REAL person (he wasn't -- 100% fiction)

Palestine, you idiot-- everyone there is pretty dark, in contrast to elsewhere.

Your BIGOTRY is showing. Bigot.

But you? YOU LIE about what it says-- you HAVE TO LIE.
Because even YOU are not quite so stupid to believe in the false promise of that verse---
-- do you wear seatbelts? Yes? YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THE BIBLE.
-- do you use modern scientific medical drugs? Yes? YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THE BIBLE.
-- do you pay for insurance of ANY kind? Yes? YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THE BIBLE.
In short?
You are just a lying azzhole.
Just like all the REST of your hate-cult.
"You are just a lying azzhole."
mama must be proud of you.

now if you want to have a civil discussion about the three examples you put up as evidence of your opinion, i'll be glad to do so. but some might need an explanation as to why you think that Christians should not do those things.

I was a Genuine Christian™ for most of my life. During that time, I read it through-and-through-- just not all at once.
That didn't happen until about 10 years or so ago, when I took a college-level class, which DID go cover-to-cover, slowly, with much study.
That was the beginning of the end of the last of my faith in the ugly bible-- I saw a horrid book of evil.
No way a GOD who CARES is responsible for it-- or even SUFFERS IT TO EXIST.
any body out there believe that bob has read the Bible through "hundreds" of times. chime in and vote.

hundreds would be more than 200 if he started reading at 10 and is now sixty that would be at least 4xs a year. oh but ten years ago he would have stopped so that would bring it up to at least 5 per year for forty years. go ahead and vote. anyone think he did it?

oh that's right, he changed his position on that later and admitted that he had a view on history.

now while "Modern secular morality is SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY to your ugly bible's." you will have to admit that what "modern secular morality" believes today will not be the same and in fact it might very well be rejected 10 years from now. so how superior is that? sounds to me that you are building your morality on the shifting sands of the whims of secularists.

Your Jesus specifically commanded you to NOT place your trust in things of man, or things created by man.

Specifically.

So, if you REALLY believed your bible (you obviously do not), you would NEVER wear seatbelts (man-made engineering) or take medical drugs (man-discovered, man-made chemicals) or buy insurance (man-invented idea, mad-owned companies, all man-made here).

You are just another hypocrite.

Just like all the rest.

Correct. Possibly-- if we discover new forms of intelligence, that require us to re-evaluate what it means to be human or a self-aware being.

One day? We may well have to expand our ideas of what human is, to include mechanical beings, or perhaps genetically-modified former-animals who now demonstrate human intelligences.

So you betcha we will modify SECULAR morality to include such concepts.

But your Bronze Age Myth-book, will still be the same ugly, misogynistic, woman-hating, slave-loving, torture-supporting book it always was.

riiiight. sorry but there is a big difference between the dark olive skin of the semitics and the black skin of the africans.
so, even if the story is a myth, it still is a Biblical story of an inter-racial marriage that god does not condemn.

how about you post a reference for your claim so that we can look at it and see if it be so.
you might be onto something. Jesus never rode in a car, never flew in an airplane, never ate a twinkee, never listen to a radio or used a cell phone, i don't see where he even crossed a bridge.
you are really coming across as a wacko. Jesus wore clothes made out of cloth you know and did ride in a boat made by man. i'm sure glad clothes might be ok.

so as history tends to repeat its self. some would say that a cycle to Biblical type morality is bound to come around again.

now i wonder if your ranting against the Bible is matched by any ranting on your part against the koran? as it seems to be dominating europe. good luck with that one.

Geez, I think I have just outed myself as most likely human. How sad for me, to be .... a fallible human being ... damn how the mighty have fallen.

Still I have habit of passing many more mistakes, than I choose to comment on. Most are simply that, mistakes: a keystroke wrong, typing too fast, spelling error, etc. Some are ignorance, and those I may or may not pinpoint. But the ones which are pure stupidity, and come from beligerant and holier-than-thou sources ... you gonna hear from me.

ESAD, idiot. Satin has been stirring your coffee, hasn't he?

I can go through 600 - 800 pages a day. It is self taught speed reading (think Evelyn Woods), I do though have to really be interested in the subject matter. I had read over 15,000 books when I quit counting them, and gave myself permission to trash rather than finish anything that I didn't like. I credit my OCD!

Do you have some evidence that would prove Bob, to have not read it?

Actually? There were 3-- took me 3 years to complete (9 months each).

The course was written by a group of PhD's within the Methodist hierarchy-- I have forgotten who, it's been awhile. Most were professors at various Methodist universities here or there.

It was considered college-level, though. I've had dumber courses, with less demand, from University, if you want a comparison.
