<quoted text>As obnoxious and misguided a person as he might be, it surely doesn't do an atheist any credit to be eager to see him 'rot in the ground'?
It's surely important to attack the view or position and not the person - if one wants to make a serious point? Still, perhaps Topix is used more useful for venting and personal gratification.
I'm not in either camp. What Graham and Hitchens have in common is that both express certainty about their beliefs (or non-beliefs). Given the limitations of human understanding, I believe both attitudes of certainty are narrow-minded and unwarranted.

What about in the eyes of other works of fiction? Darth Vader? Harry Potter? Moses?

Billy Graham was a testiment to a more positive era for American families. Now America has desolved into a spiritually bankrupt collection of disconnected strangers. We accepted being "hyphenated" into mere fractions of Americans. Beliefs and traditions no longer matter to the voting majority.
Beliefs do matter. For example, I support the belief in equality for all, and that no one has the right to deny a segment of people the right to pursue happiness. Rev. Graham seems to disagree.

As for tradition, I love old time music, old movies, penny arcades, and the institution of marriage, as long as everyone has the opportunity to partake of them.

I asked. Still Joan Rivers, but they think God needs a facelift, or something to improve His image.

Just have the writer write that in. It's all fiction the writer can make God look however they want.

Billy Graham is not a bad person. His son Franklin, however, is sadistic and self righteous. He singlehandedly destroyed the most effective AIDS program in Africa with his abstinence only bullshit! He is responsible for the unnecessary deaths of thousands!

like oprah? rush? the donald? barak? who's house is more humble? whose family is more stable?

you probably have people living right down the street from you making as much money as he does. are they also filthy rich? no one in the news media claims that his life is filthy rich or extravagant. he lives simply. i wonder if he even has a fishing boat i doubt that he has a yacht.

so once again you claim that he is rich. what did you give to the japan relief funds or the haiti funds? how many people did you put on the ground to help the locals clean up and rebuild.
now maybe if you had some talent that people could relate to they might have paid for your motivational speaches and you also could have helped in these situations.

bg is said to have a net worth of about $25million hardly mega rich when you consider that very little of that is liguid and a lot of that may be the land that he lives on.

God can see me for an extreme makeover - gowns by Ramses, and sandals by Jimmy Choo.(If Jesus saves, He can keep the money.)
