Atheism requires as much faith as religion? bearvspuma : The only problem with this rationalization is that ita s assuming all athiests are so because theya re intelligent in the ways of science and reasoning and all people that believe in a form of god are unintelligent.

Even better, why don't you tell us how the bird does that? Please, if you have any sanity all, do not say that God directs the bird.
Better yet you know how a bird see's the earth?

The same way you see a toilet, lol.

I suspect very strongly that I will be closer than that within the next 15 to 25 years, if I am fortunately enough to live that long, and I doubt very much I will be reporting back.:)

If charities depended upon Atheist. There would be no charities.
For the Atheist motto: Me, myself, and I.
You're lying again Eagle, I posted a number of Atheist organization that do charity work, I'll do it again of I must just to show what a bold faced liar you are.

So are you saying that all those Christians that do charity work would NOT do the same if they were NOT Christians? Kindness to others does NOT require religion, only kindness. You just love to lie don't you!!!!

Cut and paste but no references. That is called plagiarism.
In all that response only the last sentence deals with navigation. Scientist have theories but no solid proof how birds do it. Before you try to educate someone do your homework first.
About 50 animal species, ranging from birds and mammals to reptiles and insects, use Earth's magnetic field for navigation.
Yet Earth's magnetic field is very week. It ranges from approximately 30 to 60 millionths of one tesla. By comparison, magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, uses magnetic fields from 1.5 to 3.0 tesla.
So scientists unsure exactly how birds do it.

You answered your own question, lol. Your content to use science when its convenient, yet turn to god when it doesn't have all the answers. There is still plenty we do not understand,
www.simplywildcanada.com/How_Do_Birds_Know.ht... , is the link your looking for., no plagiarism required, it answers the question based on what we do know.

I asked you before what was going through your head during those events. I didn't see an answer.
Now, you and mac have said you didn't have any hallucinations. Neither of you have indicated them being nothing more than close calls, Now, did you think you were going to die? Was there a fear of it? Was your fully functioning consciousness trying to figure how to get out of the situations, or were you just observing what was transpiring?
I did a very long reply to your comment, and posted it a few minutes ago, but it appears to have been lost. If it doesn't appear, know that at least I did try to respond. Because of the length of it, I do not want to have to retype the whole thing, other than I had no memory of anything while unconscious during either of my drowning experiences, which would have been perhaps 10 minutes tops, the first time, and perhaps 15 or 20, the second, but I was receiving oxygen during most of that time, because otherwise I would not be here typing today. Rescuers applied mouth to mouth resuscitation both times, as soon as they got to me, so I was told.

I was hoping you would tell me that you died for several days and dug yourself out of a grave. And that’s how you know there’s no life after death.
You’re like me, you have never died, yet. That means you are just making an assumption. That assumption is not based on a real death experience.
Dave Nelson is going to be mad at you for saying that.

And THIS is what Theists build their lives and those in their families around:
THE BIBLE: Back when the bible was written, then edited, then rewritten, then rewritten, then re-edited, then translated from dead languages, then rewritten, then edited, then rewritten, then given to Kings for them to take their favorite parts, the rewritten, then translated again and given to the pope for him to approve, then rewritten, then re-edited again, then re re re re re rewritten again, all based on stories that were told ORALLY 30-90 years AFTER they happened to people who didn't know how to write..so........!! pitiful!!!!!!
Kind of does stretch the imagination, doesn't it, and we know that even one person witnessing an event will tell it differently, in most cases, each time he tells it, and if passed from person to person the story may get to the final person with no details at all matching what was first told. That is human nature. That very detailed conversations, and eye witnessed events could be passed from person to person over many decades, and have any semblance of what the first person said, is likely impossible for human beings, except for the very few people who have the mental problem of total recall, which certainly would not be the case of people in a small area over many decades. Even today with video and audio coverage of events, what actually occurred is not always what it appears to be. They had no such devices back in those days.

Still no?

So your consciousness was totally blacked out? Zero, zilch?

What about the realization you were drowning before such happened?

I bet you are Republican: who have just **cut** the SNAP programs-- much of which went to feed returning VETS!

It seems that you salute the vets-- but are unwilling to see that they get **jobs** and **food** and **housing** after they leave service.

That is some "salute" you got there...

Did you see the interview of the azzhole True Believer™ who was responsible for it all?

He wrecked his local economy, he destroyed the school district's budget, and he had **absolutely** no regrets for having done so!

He was one sick ***ck.

Where was there a talking snake? Could you refer to the scripture please. What happens to the human body when it decomposes completely after death? What's left behind? These minerals left behind from complete decomposition are they found in the earth?
Where was the talking snake? Really? You don't read your bible at all do you Eagle. I doubt you have ever once cracked your holy book, how unbelievably sad. Once again I'm here to prove that almost all Atheists know more about your holy book that the Theists who build their life around it.

You'll find the account of the talking snake in Genesis 3:4-5 and 3:22

In Genesis 3:3 The serpent "REPLIED" "Ye shall never surely die." And then in Genesis 3:4 The snake said "That if she eats the fruit of the tree, the tree in the midst of the garden, Ye will be as God knowing good and evil."

Your analogy is flawed, the dirt your God scooped up had NO remains from dead bodies, he was creating the very FIRST human. Try again!!!! And forfucksake, READ your bible every once in a while, I grow weary of educating you in both science and your own holy book!!!!

They damn well do require justification when they try to **force** said beliefs into **law** and into **society**.

Such as forcing idiotic 10 "commandments" onto public lands-- commandments of which they **never** actually follow themselves.

Such as forcing "under god" or "in god we trust" onto public and secular venues (nevermind it does not say **which** god, does it? out of the millions humans have created so far...)

Such as forcing their idiotic notions of "education" onto defenseless children.

Such as forcing their own ugly religious bigotry onto **all** women, regardless of what the woman in question may or may not believe herself: such as anti-abortion, anti-contraceptives, anti-insurance-paying-contrace ption, etc.

So they damn well **do** need to justify their ugly beliefs!
