Atheism requires as much faith as religion? bearvspuma : The only problem with this rationalization is that ita s assuming all athiests are so because theya re intelligent in the ways of science and reasoning and all people that believe in a form of god are unintelligent.

So do I. Missouri is a Castle Doctrine state with a "shall issue" for a permit. They also honor several other state's permits (such as Georgia, where I purchased the gun). My car is an extension of my home, I can place the gun in my car openly or concealed as long as I don't park it at the courthouse, federal property, university, etc.
Also, being a woman who is 5 feet tall, I can 'reasonably' fear serious bodily harm and defend myself if say, a 6 foot tall man comes at me with anything more lethal than an overripe banana....actually bare handed would probably work just as well. I can't reasonably expect to outfight or outrun......well, pretty much anyone.
Like you, I have mixed feelings about it even though I'm covered whatever I do. I've only brought it out once, there was a strange car parked at the bank (where I worked) and the best way to rob said bank is to force your way in with the first employee in the morning or snag the last employee out in the afternoon. I checked the car, it had been abandoned and I put the gun back in the car in it's case.
It's much-much better to feel silly, at having taken your protection out, than to fail to do so and wish you had...

:)

It's also much better to have to explain to a judge, than to be carried out in a box by 6...

You're simply wrong and out of touch with reality.
You've allowed the media hype to color your better judgment.
Nope. You've been watching too much Faux Snooze.

But that's okay-- I still like you anyhow.

It hardly matters, as we don't live in the same town, we're likely to never be affected by the stand your ground [legal murder] laws anyhow.

I blsme the A-Team. If felt like 20,000 rounds of lead were fired every week and no one ever took a bullet.
<quoted text>
Ooooh... good catch!

I used to laugh, though-- all those "bullets" an nary a single hot shell casing on the floor to trip over...

<laughing>

In the movie Die Hard (the original), we see Willis' character walking around barefoot-- over some broken glass *OUCH* but where are all the hot shell casings from the 1000's of rounds he exchanged with his adversaries?

LMAO!

I once had a hot casing fly up and land in the top of my shoe-- burnt the top of my foot in the second or so it took me to shake it off...

... so they do come out **hot**...

<laughing>

Yes.

But when the subject is supposed to be cerebral and all scientifical?

<grin>

Then it is most amusing to point out the grammatical errors by the poster.

This is especially true if the poster claims to be all "edumacated-like"...

I for one use Siri... and she makes many mistakes.
Some are funny and I leave them in intentionally.

And easily painted over.

Much neater than mixing up the drywall compound...
Back in the day, I occasionally used toothpaste for the little 'uns...

Indeed!
Some are truly unintentionally funny.

Siri can put word combos together that are really funny and I leave them in deliberately.

Pole lice vs Police is a example.

I don't watch FOXNews Bob you know that!
But I do separate the wheat from the chaff.

You fell into the SYG media hype.
I didn't. I am too cynical and too skeptical!
And I have a home-court advantage! ;)

It's only a difference of opinion - so like you said it really doesn't matter.

This is the first time I believe you and I have disagreed on a given subject.

My beef was simply the pseudo-reverends - Jesse and Al are nothing but professional race baiters.'Men of God'?

Oh sure we use concrete, we have big concrete factories. They can form up anything to spec, lightweight to super dense stuff. We do this in commercial construction .
But home building except for a few is a very traditional southern style, that spans the entire eastern seaboard. From Maine to Fla. where it takes a definite Spanish to Cuban style flavor.
But California is known to do off traditional flavors abundantly.
Despite all that Cabin style and Container construction is in everywhere, because we have so many containers that don't get reused. It would be interesting to combine the two concepts.
