Currently around 22 major, thriving religions in the world. This is divided into around 270 belief groupings. There are uncountable thousands of smaller religions, often (but not always) affiliated somewhere in that 270 groups.
There are/have been (confusion of the word immortal here) over 3,800 deities known in recorded civilisaton.
More than 2400 of them can be described as gods as the god of the babble is described.
There are more than 50 different English versions of the babble (who knows how many in other languages). They have stemmed from the KJV which was compiled by committee from various different, selected babbles in the early 1600s with the aim of reducing confusion. Not to mention that the original NT was itself compiled by committee in the mid 300ís. It is know that the original was edited and changed by monks thought the centuries prior to the definitive (LOL) editing by the king James team.
It is no surprise given this amount of confusion that there are now over 38,000 different active sects of christianity, each believing that their sect is the only one that their god approves of and anyone believing differently will go to hell.
And they say atheists are confused?
However given that I talk regularly to christians and Moslems about their faiths I believe that everyone who is a believer in religion has there own personal religion.
The OKJV is the most accurate English translation of the bible that there is. I know this because I've seen so much of it fulfilled. The other English version were written by Christians because the OKJV debunked their beliefs. They have interpreted the scriptures and then instead of writing down what it says, they write down what they think it means. There are a lot of gods in the world and they are all idols. The God that Jews and Muslims worship is the living God, the creator of the universe and mankind.

Oh, the sexual perversions I could watch you do. The masochism you would start to enjoy. Shit, I might even have you start going to church.

Yep, that simple old physical brain you have. Absolutely no defense against my sneaking in the back door. Having some fun. Of course I would whisper in your ear to let you know I was there on occasion, watching and enjoying the show.

Oooh!! I am getting excited thinking about it. GML being my link to the physical world and all of the things I wouldn't do to myself.

The really funny part is you don't think I could do it.

Ah, the young, tender, and juicy morsel doeth speak again. Ripe for the picking.

You have evidently read about sciences and technologies, but I'm not so sure you understand them, and even better, how they really relate to your physical existence, and thus in your view, your total self.

Surely you know about viruses and bacterias, and even external EM emissions that can heavily influence your brain. You can't see a one of them. You wouldn't even know they were there. You just follow their instructions.

just imagine old Dave shrunk down to his essence, with no where to go because there is no god or heaven, just tender juicy morsels all puffed up like you walking around. And you have his full attention. And he is getting old and ready to discard his old body.

There is a principle of physics you don't realize the import of. The seeking of equilibrium, the steady state. Run a charge of electricity through a coil and you get a magnetic field. Disconnect the charge and the field collapses in the opposite direction, as does a spurt of current. You have a shadow of what was. It can continue if it has someplace to go. We all came from a blob, did we not? There is a place for it to go if it knows how. This applies to all matter and energy you are aware of. It is a basic principle of physics.

Then it can hover over your shoulder, looking for the best place to land, to manifest itself to a degree. It doesn't need the physical body to experience life again. Those physical bodies are noisy and painful things. It just sits there observing and switching the controls. Kind of a reality TV thing. Uncensored.

Human bodies are at least seeds for a new consciousness form. That would make you a piece of meat exposed to more developed consciousnesses in search of something to occupy their time. All alone, with nothing to protect it. And screaming out for attention.

You can't protect yourself. As a physical creature you are designed to look forward. You can stand and look around, but when you start walking you can't watch your back. Your projections leave a big hole behind you to be filled.

You won't understand a bit of that. You will just whistle and project more.

Yummy.

I don't see any difference between Old Dave shrunk down to his essence with no where to go, and the Dave that just typed this, who has read every one of over 500,000 posts on the Atheist Forum for the past 3 years, who obviously has no where to go.

This is incredible Dave. I'm sure you have data to back this theory up I hope? You need to publish this experience in one of the scientific journals. I see a Nobel prize waiting for you.

Make sure you include this description when you publish your paper Dave. I hope you saved the data that supports this theory, especially the stuff about your projections leaving a big hole behind you that's waiting to be filled. There must be one of those gender specific bars near your house where you can get this taken care of I'll bet. I think they charge like triple though for a decrepit old man with a big hole that's waiting to be filled.

Poor George, I think I understnd why he is so anti-religion. He has a communication problem and is frustrated. Those guys walking by him in the restrooms while he was on his knees probably thought he was praying. Oh, if they only knew the love he has for his fellow man.

George, make like a goldfish while doing that, some may get the hint.
