After my father died, I was cleaning out his garage and I found my Daisy BB gun that I got for Christmas probably a little older than Ralphie, but in exactly the same manner. Mom against it. All presents opened. No gun. Then "something" behind the couch over there.
As an anecdote, a large sporting goods store in NJ was raided, some years ago, by Federal and State authorities.

Said authorities seized every single Daisy Red Ryder BB gun on the premises, and there was talk of criminal charges. Two weeks before Christmas.

The rationale? The BB guns were smooth-bored, and had a barrel less than 16" long.

Ergo, they were sawed-off shotguns.

Well there is more historical proof for Hercules than Jesus so you know, just saying.

You know this was already disproven a long time ago right? Still making a jackass out of yourself.

Sigh oh well you come to troll on the atheist forum that's what you get half wit.

Oh and the Catholic Church is the largest Christian denomination :)

Argument to popularity fail. Collective opinion without demonstrable proof shows nothing.

Hey you like Josephus and Tacitus right? All you Christholes can't shit up about those two as secular proof for Jesus right?

Guess what? They both mention Hercules and far more then they mention Jesus. So of you or anyone is going to use either of these guys as your proof of Jesus argument you also must accept the existence of Hercules and more so because he is mention more than Jesus in their works.

Checkmate.

TNT, along with other explosives, is a very useful substance, but it is also too dangerous in the hands of the untrained and unskilled to allow unlicensed personnel to have access to it.
Then let's drop the 'original intent' argument.
NightSerf wrote:
Nor are there any non-industrial uses for it that I can think of. Firearms are less dangerous and more useful for the general population and can be used effectively with far less training. They are also the weapons of choice when crimes are being committed, and homicide rates tend to be lower for societies in which they are less available.
Name all the counties that the average person cannot or is strictly limited the firearm that they are allowed to own. Then compare all the aspects of those societies to ours. First, I would think, you would have to copy their social traits, then you might be able to force the restrictions that you want. You are not going to easily force people, who have been taught since day one, that they are free and that no one can take their freedoms away from them, to give up a freedom.

I have done nothing wrong, yet every time that I go to catch a plane, I am illegally searched, why? Because Americans became so scared that they gave up their right not to be searched.

The same thing is going to happen with firearms, but the one big problem is, you are only going to take the firearms away from law abiding citizens.
NightSerf wrote:
It all comes back to the basic tradeoff between security and personal freedom. I tend to lean more toward the latter, which is why I dislike many of the provisions of the so-called Patriot Act. I don't own any firearms, but I'm comfortable with the fact that many of my friends and acquaintances do and that some have carry permits. But it does make sense to clearly define where the line between the two is drawn.
I fully agree that we need to talk and we need to find some answers. Knee jerk reactions and pulling at heart strings is only going to get us another, "Patriot Act" law that takes away more of our freedoms.

Americas Grandchildren:
The majority of Us the Government of this Representative Republic that vote and the nonvoters that sit on their dead hands and whine; insist on reelecting Obnoxious President, Governor, Representatives of US the Government, County Commissioners, Township Trustees, Mayors, City Council, School Administrators and Board Members.
That defies USA Labor Law, The Constitution, and demands of Natural Law: what Mother Nature, God, or Whatever Power decreed to be the reality of the real world, democracy, capitalism, the US Constitution, and free, fair, and affordable commerce and common sense demands.
Demanding every Stockholder, corporation, farmer, business, outsourcer sweatshop, and nonprofit, tax-exempt, organization and Church; markets the cost in the wholesale and retail price of his or her product and service; of every worker, consumer, and taxpayer's wages (union contract), healthcare, pension, investment and independent business profit.
This enables every worker, consumer, and taxpayer to pay healthcare insurance premium or pay healthcare provider. Pay ALL taxes and pay for every product and service they use for life. With same percentage of wages, investment profit, and independent business profit. And enables every parent to educate, love, nurse, nurture, discipline, protect, and provide; for every child (job) they conceive.
And fund schools, infrastructure, local and national security, government services, and etc.; with money derived from wages, investment profit, and independent business profit.
And holds Union workers, consumers, taxpayers, and America’s grandchildren’s children, Government employees, Parents, Teachers, Veterans, Police, Firemen, and Fathers disqualified for affirmative action with white skin, Representatives deny Collective Bargaining Rights accountable.
To pay President, Governor, Representatives of US the Government, County Commissioners, Township Trustees, Mayors, City Council, School Administrators and Board Members and the bureaucrats they appoint wages, pension, and healthcare. With money derived from the $7.25 per hour Government mandated labor wage, investment and independent business profit.
And fund Illegal drug users and Immigrants, lottery, casino, and keno losers, unemployed Union workers replaced with nonunion workers, Human Traffickers, waitresses that pander for life for $2.00 per hour, slaves in tax exempt enterprise zones, low-income child labor, consumers, and taxpayers, volunteers without wages, and nonunion workers willing to work for fewer wages than they can afford life. That pays with welfare checks, food stamps, housing vouchers, and Medicaid.
Pay for all stimulus packages, tax abatements, tax incentives, tax refunds, tax credit, and tax exemptions.
Pay sales tax on the more stock dividends (money) OPEC Nations, Enron Stockholders, Wal-Mart Stockholders, Hillarys, Chinese, Foreign and Domestic Investors and Stockholders (money marketers) market quarterly. In the wholesale and retail price of every product and service Human Beings use for life. And School Boards and Government needs to build, maintain and operate schools, infrastructure, and provide local and national security, and Government services. That gets only product or service.
Needed to measure and maintain the strength and growth of this UNAFFORDABLE economy and distribute money Human Beings cannot digest, burn in internal combustion engines, or burn to heat and cool their American Dream. Into OPEC Nations, Enron Stockholders, Wal-Mart Stockholders, Hillarys, Chinese, Foreign and Domestic Investors and Stockholders portfolios.
Pay Ohio’s $1.35 trillion budget deficit, the $40 trillion social security and the $16 trillion national debt. America’s grandchildren’s children are responsible to pay Chinese, Foreign and Domestic Investors and Stockholders interest with this debt until they are 18 years old.
America’s grandchildren’s children cannot pay this debt in a hundred million years.

It was good timing, that's all, the passengers had no idea where they were, thus they could have still caused a massive catastrophe. But you admitted that the plane still went down at least.

I guess you're pretty clueless as to what a bullet will do to a pressurized aircraft, eh?

While its not like what they depict in movies, with everybody getting sucked out the windows, it would entail oxygen masks and emergency descent at best.

I'm pretty sure air Marshalls use a light load and frangible rounds.

I sure as hell don't want some redneck yahoo with the brains of a tick carrying a loaded weapon aboard any plane I'm on.
