Oh, he has reasons.

They're not good ones, but they're his and he'll beat the crap out of anybody who says different.

I can appreciate that. I have always enjoyed firearms, but I have always had a healthy respect for them, too; as I am sure you do.
I do believe that education is a key to our problems in the States. I am not saying that if everyone knew how to clear them or not to touch the trigger until you are ready to fire, that our world would be a murder free one, but it would help with the accidents!
Also, if we were smart enough to keep them out of the hands of the mentally challenged, we would be doing a lot better!
We cured that problem years ago with very stringent gun laws. I am not saying we don't have gun related murders which are rare, but we haven't had a mass killing since 1996.

When you are from the hills of Kentucky and the US, guns and god are all you know; so everything does revolve around them, in their minds.
What does it mean "from the hills of Kentucky and the US"?

I agree with you! Gun safety is paramount. I actually like the gun laws in CA, they're a bit restrictive but I think it helps as far as accidents go.

BUT - You can teach & train people all you want, that doesn't mean they'll exercise their knowledge.

YOu people will convince yourselves on anything, huh?
World wide, there is compounding evidence to demonstrate that never happened.

I guess that depends on how you interpret the available data.

Just as mush as you can "prove" is didn't happen, I can "prove" that it did...

How could you interpret the facts differently? Geological, archeological, and dendrochronology show no evidence of a world wide flood. This has been hashed out a million times, even the logistics just makes it impossible. So where is your evidence? Aside from the assertion in the bible, that's not evidence, that's called an assertion.

I could live with some reasonable gun control.

But I would like to point out that Japan has stringent gun laws.

That didn’t stop a group of radicals from using Sarin Gas on the general public. Thousands were affected by this terrorist act.(1995)

In your own country in 2009, 173 people were mass murdered by arsonist.

Perhaps Australia should outlaw, gasoline, flammables, matches, fire starter, lighters, magnifying glass and flint.

While our countries have a lot of similarities, we do have some major differences.

How many people in your country vs the US?
How many of those people immigrated from a country with strict gun laws?
What are the differences in hunting? I grew up in Pennsylvania; the first day of deer season was a basically state holiday.

I worry a lot more about losing our freedoms, one by one, than I care about firearms.
