Yes without science we would be much better off. Life expectancy would be around 30 years old, plagues would continue to wipe out millions with regularity. A mere infect could kill you or your loved ones. sanitary conditions would be something you can't even imagine, or course accompanied by a variety of nasty diseases. And in the end, without science you would still be huddled in the back of your cave banging two bones together asking the thunder God to bring more game.
