Told you it would be used against you.
The idea behind the Christian virgin birth and sacrifice was God realized it was to big for us to see. Therefore it melded with us, imparting part of itself directly within human form that then had to deal with the physical world. God went slumming. This gave a face to the message it had been trying to pass on, but was too big and vague for mankind to see. God set man loose way back, and this was the way he tried to call some back home. Reuniting with the creative spirit.
The Christian virgin birth is behind gay sex???

That's amazing. Why don't you sell that idea to the Christians?

Seriously, Dave, you're the poster child for bafflingly insane.

I haven't got a clue why they would think so. Why did Christianity develop along the lines of worshiping one human sacrifice and a virgin birth? No idea. Culture is like that. People pick up on some idea and it becomes relevant to them.
The thing about low tech cultures is that they aren't stupid, Dave. The worm thing isn't any kind of science going on - these are just people who are constantly infected with parasitic worms. There's no getting away from infection, unless you have good sewers and pavement. So they have myths and magic that deal with worms. But people in low-tech cultures make deductive observations, too. They've come up with all kinds of medicines for ailments. The Luo actually have de-worming medication they make from herbs to control the worm population in their bodies. Unlike our medicine, though, theirs won't clear the body of parasites. They act to decrease the parasites rather than destroy them all.
Dave Nelson wrote:

You deserve further mockery on this one.

Hiding: I don't know why these people believe worms are healthy.

Dave: It's the reason we have gay sex.

Hiding: I suspect it's because worms are ubiquitous in their environment.

Dave: Dave: It's the reason we have gay sex.

Hiding: That's stupid and ridiculous, two things I've come to expect from you.

Hiding: Low tech peoples invented many medicines from observation, testing and deduction.

Dave: It's the reason we have gay sex.

Hiding: So...you're saying that gay sex is the result of observing, testing and deduction of plant medicines? Or just sex in general?

So...your argument is that gay sex, like plant medicines, is good for people?

Dave, you couldn't use an argument against someone in any situation I can think of. You failed here, you fail every time. The only person who understands your delusion is you. Population: Dave. Admittedly, some of the posters enjoy reading your babble. Where else can they find this level of comic tragedy that a single human has sunk to?

I really feel sorry for you. Oh, well.

You may be right. But having seen someone suffer from Crohn's I'd use worms when the steroids and immunosuppressants stop working.

I'd recommend you start with the worms, to be honest. That would increase the window with which you have to use the other medicines and possibly even erase the need.

Uh...I'm not a medical doctor. Don't take advice from me. But if I was in that situation, given what I've read, I'd convince my doctor to look at the literature so she could properly monitor me while I take the worms.

<<^^COUGH^^>> BULLSHIT!
You've got it backwards. Believers like you believe that prayer has supernatural effects.

They don't. They're not useless, though. They're a means of social communication - i.e., placebo.

All double blind studies have found the same results: no effect. You have to know you're being prayed to for a small effect and that makes it a social effect - placebo.
