Atheism requires as much faith as religion? bearvspuma : The only problem with this rationalization is that ita s assuming all athiests are so because theya re intelligent in the ways of science and reasoning and all people that believe in a form of god are unintelligent.

My pastor found out about this and our entire GODLY congregation has been worshiping at this altar. Our LORD loves TRUE Christians so much that he makes it easy to find Him on our pets' rears. Atheists' pets don't receive such GRACE from Jesus Christ Hisself. Glory!

Nothing that was said in response to that post was an example of bigotry.

That you think it was, is an example of ignorance.

<quoted text>You're absolutely correct, if Congressman Paul Braun chooses to be ignorant, that is his right.
It is also the right of any and all others to point out that ignorance.
So why do you get so upset when your ignorance gets pointed out?

Damned hypocrite.

Why would you, given that evolution is part and parcel of science? Or do you have something against science?

When did it become "bigotry" to point out irrational thinking?

You are completely wrong when you accuse Braun of thinking. He has never had a clear thought in his life. He runs strictly on faith.

Just also posted this on the PTAG thread:
Georgia Republican congressman Paul Braun said in videotaped remarks that evolution, embryology and the Big Bang theory are "lies straight from the pit of hell," meant to convince people that they don't need a savior.
Perhaps not surprising. But here's the clincher. Braun is on the House Science and Technology Committee.
Peachy, eh?
Let's see who here speaks up in support of the congressman's remarks.
Are you there, Dave?
Who is Rep Paul Broun?

A Chemist, Congressman and also a Medical Doctor. Let me assure his views on evolution are shared by many in the scientific and medical community.

Iím not denying the fact that a very large portion of the scientific community really believes in evolution. Thereís also many who donít believe in it and remain silent for fear of retribution. The Congressman was hired by the people of the 10th Congressional District. He doesnít give a damn about any retaliation.

No matter what you think of the Congressman. He is not unintelligent. His educational background is worthy of respect. So often Christians are viewed by atheist as stuck in the 14th century. Anti-science but nothing could be further than the truth.

Thousands if not millions of Christians are scientist or working in a science related field including the medical field. I support the Congressman right to free speech and right not to believe in Evolution. I see evolution like a hot air balloon. It takes a lot of hot air to keep it moving.

Wiki:

Paul Collins Broun, Jr.(born May 14, 1946)[2] is the U.S. Representative for Georgia's 10th congressional district, serving since 2007. He is a member of the Republican Party and the Tea Party Caucus.

Broun was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Democratic Georgia state senator Paul Broun, Sr.(1916Ė2005), who represented Athens and the surrounding area from 1963 to 2001. The younger Broun is a graduate of Athens High School and the University of Georgia at Athens (B.S., Chemistry, 1967) and earned his Doctor of Medicine (1971) from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.[3] His internship was at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon and residency at University Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He then practiced general medicine; starting in 2002 he maintained a practice based solely on house calls.

I hope you all don't mind my interrupting your boxing match, but may I pose a question?
If you could use your imagination for a moment and pull back from your current convictions, then contemplate that you now have the ultimate choice.
That whatever you WISHED to be true would be so.
Would it be different from what you feel certain of now?
My question is experimental in nature, not meant to be inflammatory.
