baaa-baa-baaaa...me no understand, gomen, ne.<quoted text> Agreed. Do you consider that a positive character trait? Would you put that on your job resume? Actually i really do not believe you are. In reality i disagree.
I'm an elitist in that I deeply respect the honest bettering of self and others. People who need to lie about knowledge, make false proclamations about bodies of knowledge they don't have the first clue about, create straw men they can hate (bigoted and otherwise) are not moral, not worthy of respect.
When I see a musician who has practiced years to explore music, I am in awe - the same when I see a potter who can work magic with their hands, a dancer who moves effortlessly, anyone who's deeply passionate about their pursuits and develops a sophisticated degree of talent. I believe these people are delving into what makes us human in the deepest sense. Sometimes I think classical musicians understand the universe better than physicists :) at least, in their performance.
I don't look favorably on those who spread ignorance and hatred, use deceit to maintain their positions of power, require the victimizing of the many to support the few, who seek to erase difference rather than celebrate variety. These people make the world a smaller, nastier place and live off the worst, basest parts of humanity.
