(RNS) Two pastors have left a Reformed evangelical group after a pastor from the Maryland megachurch they oversaw confessed to covering up sex abuse claims, the latest chapter in a public struggle over evangelicals coming to terms with abuse within their ranks.
Pastors Joshua Harris and C.J. Mahaney left the leadership council of The Gospel Coalition, a central hub for the Reformed evangelical movement, after a trial involving child abuse at Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Md., which both men have overseen.
A criminal trial that concluded last week raised questions about what pastors at Covenant Life knew about the abuse and why steps weren’t taken to stop it.
Nathaniel Morales, 56, was convicted Thursday (May 15) of sexually abusing three underage boys between 1983 and 1991 when he was a youth leader at Covenant Life.
During testimony, former Covenant Life pastor Grant Layman suggested that he withheld information from the police about the abuse allegations against Morales.
“Did you have an obligation to report the alleged abuse?” public defender Alan Drew, who represented Morales, asked during cross-examination.“I believe so,” Layman said.“And you didn’t,” Drew responded.“No,” Layman said.

So I will ask again, why you should you consider me lesbian because I have no intention of letting an ignorant fookwit big mouth and no trousers moron like you into my panties?
<quoted text>
Ahh right so not ignored at all, such a liar you are turning out to be
Have you actually asked if you satisfied them? From your personality shown here on topix I would think not, I would however think you dream that you fooked them real good (in your own mind) so they should be satisfied otherwise they must be lesbian?
And of course we only have you word as a god fearing man (LOL) for this feat of sexual gymnastics. and who the hell would believe a machine gun mouth like you?
BTW, Your verbalisations lets you down, you come across as having no idea of what constitutes satisfaction to the opposite sex. Stick your dick in, wiggle it about a bit and voila, there she is satisfied, time to tell the world about it!!!!– you really are a pathetic example of manhood (and I use the word manhood in the loosest possible sense)
<quoted text>
So you are a raving poofter trying to hide your sexuality from your fellow godbots, thanks for telling us.
i was just trying to be light-hearted and joke around with a fellow human being, but you seem genuinely angry and hateful so i think i'll hafta be more careful about talking to you as tho you're a reasonable person - my bad:-)

They the poor and working class fought a revolution and civil war where the church was also the aristocracy and absolute monarchy, this same thing happened in France and England but you don't complain about the little guy killing the abusing rulers who sat fat in their rich lives while the people starved. It was harder for the Russians to win against the aristocracy which had large support in the Russian Orthodox Church with an army led by the monarchy. This is what created them and why the Russians embraced atheism, but make no mistake to gain freedom from the monarchy , the church had to be destroyed. Stalin furthered this goal when after winning the revolution the church regrouped into the "White Party" which sent him in a insane drive to destroy and burn the churches out of fear and the desire to take absolute control.
It would be no different if they had embraced another form of Christianity it would have been an entirely christian war then with you good Christians killing one another for freedom from oppression.
As it worked out in thier case they turned away totally from religion having been abused by it so bad. You know America did nearly the same thing in it's revolution against England, which was an absolute monarchy with the crown behind the Church of England.
America choose to give religious freedom of any religion rather than reject religion altogether.
But it could have happened here like in Russia had there not been separation of the sea between the Church of England and the established churches here it may well have.
Anytime you have a two tiered society with the royals and commoners, if the commoners are starving and have nothing, while the royals have plenty. Well you can understand why the Russians did what they did.
Actually I cannot understand the justification of the murder of millions of innocent orxinary people by the followers of lenin and stalin. Just admit it.

Why do you justify the murders based on ideology.

I do not like the fact that sometimes we will have to defend our very way of life to survive.
I did not make this world full of greed and stupidity.
Lennon and Stalin were not much different than any other champions who rise to lead their brothers to survive. The fact that they were an opposition and a threat to us in every way makes them both dark and adversary's. But you will find the one truth is that people are not much different no matter where you go. When we paint an adversary we want it grimacing and inconceivably horrible, that way you know to stick to what you know and do not tread on the foreign ground. The truth is I do not condone murder at all, not for ideology or faith.
I do condone justice and defending ones country. that's why the George Washington Nest will sail in harms way or defend the States. The world is a dangerous place because of the human ape, there will be need of defending oneself. And I just another Eagle Scout, who's motto hasn't changed since....Be Prepared.

The Christian Lady Countess Bathory is a way better christian though.

Elizabeth Bathory - the Blood Countess

Elizabeth Bathory, the Blood Countess, is one of the most famous of all historical vampires. She is perhaps less well-known only than the infamous Vlad Dracula, known also as Tepes (the Impaler) and he - although noted for his savage and very public methods of execution - was no vampire, but has merely been cited as the inspiration for Bram Stoker's fictional Count Dracula. In fact, the historical Dracula is usually best known as a devout, if savage, Christian warrior and noted for his successful enforcement of the law within the Voevodate of Wallachia. Elizabeth Bathory on the other hand is renowned as a torturer, an eater of flesh and a bather in blood, and has been cited by prominent vampirologist Raymond McNally in his book Dracula was a Woman (which is currently out of print) as a closer model for Bram Stoker's creation than Tepes.

But so many non Muslims consider (and treat) them as if they were.
Islam is pretty much like christianity, they even worship the same deity. The god stories are similar with amendments that show a few hundred years of progress. But still written over one and a half millennia ago.
Not many muslims want to live under Shariah law either however just like in christianity there are funnymentalists. As far as I know only about 15 of more than 50 Islamic countries apply full sharia law.
Sure the god book will have an influence but it’s personality and hence interpretation of the god books that define how a person reacts to that god book. Examples abound on this very thread. Some good christians (so they claim) rejoice in vomiting hatred to anyone who does not worship as they choose to worship. That very same accusation that they apply to Islam.
I sometimes PM with a Muslim who is currently very upset because he want on a christian thread to try and learn something about christianity and offer his views on Islam to anyone interested enough to correspond. Those good christians ganged up on him (you know what it’s like) vomiting hatred and abuse to reject him from the thread, they just did not want to know, did not even want to listen and did not want to provide their view. Such ignorance is what defines them. I don’t know which thread it was but I would not be in the least surprised if such good, wholesome christians as Rodny were among the mob.
Unlike you and me, he is not inured to the behaviour of good christian folks and has not returned to the thread since.
Yes, some of the Muslims are Ok. They won't convert me though. Nor will I go with one again, that was a learning curve.

I'm sorry the bloke went through that. It's a verbal cage fight @ times on here. I put up with it because there are some people I do like to have a yarn with. Others...need a good kangaroo kick in the guts.

Sometimes I think that if there was a God, the first thing he would say if he came down here to Earth is: "Hey kids! Stop fighting!"

Vlad Tepes, known as the Impaler. Bram Stoker got the idea for Dracula from him.
