You're a flaming homophobe. What do you think of this?:
[1] "Republican Gov. Jan Brewer faced intensifying pressure Monday from CEOs, politicians in Washington and state lawmakers in her own party to veto a bill that would allow business owners with strongly held religious beliefs to deny service to gays and lesbians. Senate Bill 1062 has set off a political firestorm since the Arizona Legislature passed it last week, with critics denouncing the measure as blatantly discriminatory and embarrassing to the state."

[2] "If Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer allows a controversial bill letting businesses refuse to serve gay customers to become law, the NFL should consider moving the 2015 Super Bowl, Delaware Gov. Jack Markell said Monday.“If they pass this law and if she signs it, it would seem to me that the NFL may be looking, or should be looking, to move the Super Bowl out of that state” http://www.politico.com/story/2014/02/jack-ma...
People seem to be increasingly disgusted by your religion's scapegoating of gays. The church would love to continue to bully them, but apparently, it's losing the cachet necessary to be effective at doing so. Pushing the church out of the public sphere and limiting its influence only to those who choose to submit to it will be a great victory for those who prefer compassion, human decency, and justice to what the church offers instead.
This is why we want the church out of

You're exposing yourself as a liar, Catch.
Many people reading this know that I've said God touched me on the head.
(here comes the perverted, sexually depraved and deprived Topix Atheist! comment of "which head?")
There it is folks, his god touched the redneck on the head.

Don't forget.

Many of you reading this knew that.

The others now know.

It was on the head that the redneck was touched.

So you now admit that you were lying and you know nothing about what satan thought?

How convenient, you lie and get caught out lying then accuse the other person of lying just because you are not man enough to accept being caught out. Such a brave godbot you are.

Are you now also denying that you said you had walked out on your wife?

And are you denying that you sai you beat your children

What I do care about is factual truth in the public discourse in a representative democracy where public opinion can have major implications in policy, law, and ultimately, people's lives. Half-truths, misinformation, faulty memory, and purposeful lies are all life-threatening social diseases in such a system. Don't be a carrier.
If any portion of this were true, you would be railing against the ACA, as it was foisted upon us with lies, from its inception to its roll out, from every democrat who supported it, right up to, and especially, the president.

So pardon me if I am not impressed with your alleged regard for truthful discourse.

AGAIN...try to have your tiny little brain focus on "more than any other state" and see what comes to mind....

<quoted text> If you will not even read the article from an expert who is in your camp and who also compares folks like you to holocaust deniers. You got some serious problems there dude.
I read the article < http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bart-d-ehrman/d... >. It was just an appeal to belief. Where was the evidence of Jesus' historicity in it?

[1] "With respect to Jesus, we have numerous, independent accounts of his life in the sources lying behind the Gospels (and the writings of Paul)-- sources that originated in Jesus' native tongue Aramaic and that can be dated to within just a year or two of his life (before the religion moved to convert pagans in droves). Historical sources like that are is pretty astounding for an ancient figure of any kind."

What independent accounts from within a year or two of his alleged life?

[2] "Moreover, the claim that Jesus was simply made up falters on every ground."

The claim is that Jesus MAY have been made up, and there need be only one ground for that - the lack of compelling evidence that he wasn't..

[3] "Moreover, aspects of the Jesus story simply would not have been invented by anyone wanting to make up a new Savior ... The messiah was to be a figure of grandeur and power who overthrew the enemy. Anyone who wanted to make up a messiah would make him like that."

Nonsense. There were no people meeting the requirements for the Hebrew messiah in the first century, which included achieving perfection on earth during his lifetime. Who could they point to like that to convince Jews? If the authors of Christianity wanted to create a god figure, it would have to be a character that might have walked among them that they had not heard about in his lifetime.

And Ehrman is definitely not one of us, or in our camp as you put it. He doesn't write like an unbiased scholar - dispassionately. He smears his critics. He begins by associating them with Holocaust deniers - Imagine the opening sentence ending with the phrase, "is it any surprise to hear that Santa never even existed?" - and ends by challenging their sanity and claiming for himself that he has offered a range of compelling evidence. That is for the reader to judge, not the author.

These tendentious tactics are the hallmark of propagandists.

<quoted text>I'm sorry that's just more misinformation coupled this time with partisan doom and gloom soothsaying. The HC marketplace is designed to ensure that no one pays more than 9% of income. Anyone under that bar will be eligible for subsidy. They call that a "handout", but if their family is bankrupted by an unfeeling behemoth of a healthcare system, what will they call that?
As for the sky-falling component, well.........
That is incorrect.

In some states, a person earning above $62,000 per year is not eligible for a subsidy no matter the cost of the premium.

In my state, a person earning $62K can be paying as high as $1,000 a month in premiums, or roughly 20% of income, not 9%, and ineligible for a subsidy.

And this is not accomplished by "a health care system". It is the government.

.. hi ya Chris ..

.. humans are akin to three-headed dragons with the middle head having to make the ultimate decisions ..

.. the left head (Satan if you will) says, "Go ahead, it will be fun" ..

.. the right head (Higher Self if you will) says, " That's wrong, don't do it" ..

.. and, there you sit, caught in the middle of the drama, both dragon heads yowling instructions ..

.. what to do, what to do ??..

.. does this daily drama have anything to do with belief or unbelief? Or, is it simply a manifestation of the human condition ??..

.. anyway, when it comes to sex, my left head always wins. Can I blame it on Satan ??..

You need to do both, and successfully, or there is no value in doing either. It really doesn't matter if a man named Jesus was the model for the stories in the gospels if he wasn't also a god.
