If there were any cogent arguments for a god-centered universe, we would, need extraneous links or spurious videos to put them forth. The could be stated plainly in a single post or a series of them right here on this forum. I have yet to read any.

Atheism isn't based, you see, on the strength of science, whether biological, physical, or astronomical, however fascinating those subjects may be, No, it's based on the weakness of the arguments for that god-centered universe, arguments that rely on the gullibility of the listener more than on flawless logic based on demonstrable reality.

A person can be completely unaware of the principals of science and still see that ultimately, the reason always given is "Because I say so" or because some unimpeachable authority supports a theistic world view. Einstein is often cited, for instance, and even if those assertions weren't based on misunderstanding and misinterpretation, citing him as a source means nothing unless the words themselves stand on their own no matter who says them.

I have no interest in shaking anyone's faith. Others can live their intellectual/emotional/spiritu al lives as they please. But i anyone wants to change my mind about religion, I will require compelling logic and evidence that meets MY standards.

It is not enough that you find your own arguments to be persuasive. You are not a skeptic. I am.

"Wealth of arguments"?

Paucity of evidence is more like it. The only things the religitards have in abundance are dishonesty, verbal diarrhoea and ignorance. But when it comes to facts, their "arguments" are as empty as their heads.

Today, I am going to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that God exist and all you Atheist need to get used to that fact, before I explain, How many of you know the Third Commandment?, where it says that God will not hold you guiltless for taking His name in vain. Boy I learnt my lesson on that!!!, please let me tell you, when I was a Teenager, I would kind of blame God for something that went wrong, then I would shout out to God to perform oral sex on me so to speak. When I turned 20, I grew out of this habit, feeling kind of sorry for what I did at times. Then 2 years later, on a rainy Spring day, I asked God for a wife, just a simple one mind you. I did not ask God for riches or fame, just a simple wife in whom I would have been ever so greatful to God for!!!. 5 months after this, God gave me a rotten wh**e, He gave me a real bad woman!!!. So let this be a lesson to all you folks out there, GOD WILL LITERALLY RAPE YOU IF YOU TAKE HIS NAME IN VAIN!!!, HE WILL F**K YOU!!!, like He did me. God is unforgivable, I can say He is!!!. Now I can forgive someone that tells me to perform oral sex on them, like this one boy in High school for example, Jesse was His name, I forgave Him fine and dandy and that rotten Scumbag in Heaven knows it!!!. The point is, I can forgive but God can't, so that makes me better and stronger then Him!!!. Besides, God gives wives to men that kills, cons, abuses, and makes their wives do deviant sexual acts for them, God will give a wife to someone like that!, He won't give a wife to someone that will take care of Her!!!. Of course, I didn't let that monster get away with raping me and putting me through the mill, NO SIR RE!!!, I PUT IT TO HIM NOW!!!, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!. How do you like them apples God?, taste pretty good!!!.

This title is infamous. Every stupid blogger and bad philosopher who is a theist has used this title, almost if not every article with this title is a painful, disjointed parade of stupidity. The reason for this is that the intended audience for such articles are people who already agree with the author, this is show by the title itself as anyone who wants their work read by many needs their title to be either interesting or very provocative. The title "Answering Atheism" is neither of these things, so before I do a statement by statement response to this article I wish to make some predictions.

1) No new/rarely discussed ideas and arguments will be formed/covered by the author.

2) There will be an ad hominem attack towards atheists (like linking Nazism to atheism). Naturally this will have no place in a serious article trying to post something good for a debat.

3) There will be a "it must be sad to be an atheist" and/or "atheism is a depressing ideology" like statement.

4) The article will call atheism an ideology or a religion.

5) If four is true then the article will also say atheism needs faith.

Now that this has been said lets get to the actual response.

Ok my response post didn't get up so before I writing again I would like to say that none of my predictions came true or could really be applied in this case as it was a book review (I use that word loosely...). There was one time at the end of the article that sounded sort of made it into 3) by probably stating we need to be saved and shown the light, I'm not sure so reach our own conclusion and help me make one.

Now we really go on to the main post...

"In the aftermath of the slew of books by the so-called new atheists there has been a wealth of material in book-form in reply. Of the several books I have read they have all provided good material in answering atheism.

The main weakness of the majority of the books I have read regarding atheism in apologetics is that I also found that these books were not ones that I would really suggest an atheist to read. While reading them I reflected that if I was still an atheist that I would have found the tone to be too condescending or confrontational." Maybe there a reason for this... Oh I don't know the fact that the more devout you are the more likely you are to be/closer to be a fanatic. Their a reason why religious fundamentalists are the most vocal and the moderates are the least, only the former group actuals care about their religion. If any who read this take issue then ask yourself when was the last time you followed a priests advice in a moral dilemma, most of you will at this point say never or very little so I have to say it but you faith doesn't really led your life as your faith says it should.

"My only previous exception to this I found was New Proofs for the Existence of God: Contributions of Contemporary Physics and Philosophy by Fr. Robert J. Spitzer S.J. Although this book was not a general apologetics work and almost entirely confined itself to where the philosophical and the scientific arguments intersected." I haven't read this so if anyone would like to say that they found when reading it please go ahead.

"When I first heard that Trent Horn from Catholic Answers was putting out a book on atheism I had high hopes that maybe here would be a book that I could recommend to atheists who were interested in hearing arguments against atheism. I have greatly enjoyed Trent Horn’s answers on Catholic Answers especially when they spend a whole show dialoging with atheists. I am very happy to report that Answering Atheism: How to Make the Case for God with Logic and Charity is exactly the book I have been waiting for." I read the book description off the amazon link in the article and I would like to highlight two things below.

"Today's New Atheists don't just deny God's existence (as the old atheists did)- they consider it their duty to scorn and ridicule religious belief. We don't need new answers for this aggressive modern strain of unbelief: We need a new approach." I can't help but think this paints me as a thug and a militant who is tricky to deal with, but Mr Miller doesn't see this as condescending...

"In Answering Atheism, Trent Horn responds with a fresh and useful resource for the God debate" Didn't it say just before this that "We don't need new answers" but "a new approach". How can something be fresh if it doesn't give any new answers?
Back to the actual.

"I liked almost just about everything about this book and the serious effort it makes to take atheist objections seriously." Ok what is it you didn't like this is a review right...

"You can certainly see the St. Thomas Aquinas approach here where objections are put forth accurately before the “on the contrary” reply to the objection." I think we are the ones to judge if the book uses straw men not you, we actually use the arguments you don't.

"There are always going to be tensions between writing an apologetics book for a popular audience while addressing technical philosophical and scientific questions." I'm sorry you have no idea what you are talking about. As someone who is studying science and has read books popularizing science alongside studying philosophy, and has also read books popularizing philosophical ideas I can tell you no tensions exist in popularizing philosophy. In books science complicated words mean complicated things making it hard to popularize. In philosophy however complicated words mean simple things the only complications come with explaining the arguments so that it's clear how they work, but clarity is something everything must overcome popularizers of philosophy have no harder time as everyone else.

"At one time I was naive enough to believe that a solid book of this type would of its own be a great conversion tool. I have since learned that grace, disposition, and timing is even a more necessary requirement before logic. Yet this book at least will help towards fertilizing that rocky soil." You make it sound like we need to be saved... Does this sound like "it must be sad to be an atheist"? Because "fertilizing that rocky soil" sounds like we lack something we ought to have.
