"The God of the Qur'an is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.

I did not say that. I said that was the topic of the article. I look for an actual discussion and none is offered here. I have not told you you have a mental problem and have yet to see you make a single actual point. I have not stated my beliefs or lack thereof, I have loved ones in both camps and have no reason to defend either.
I will talk as and when I wish. It is a public forum. I require no permission from you to speak, ask questions or to point out that the current discussion you wish to engage in has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter presented at the origin of the thread.
Furthermore, I will do so without personal attack, overt emotional response or rudeness. Whether I am a Christian or not, I will remain a lady. All I ask is that others show the same level of respect for each other, as some of the gentlemen of faith do. That simple show of gentility is far more persuasive than your callous derision.
When you've finished ranting like a wild monkey, perhaps you'd care to make some actual points or present evidence of the god you're trying to lie to us about.

Your *faith* has no respect for atheists. Go home, remove the part about Atheists being fools in your bible and come back when you have adopted a more honest belief system.

Religious people love to play victim whenever they have the chance.

Its a technique they use, to make you play defensive, when its actually their cult that says that Atheists are fools.

Much like their made up gods, the religuous have no justification for calling all Atheists (including people they've never even met), fools.

This is simple hate wrapped in religious fraud.

No religious person has the guts to stand up and correct their bible and remove this hatred against Atheists.

And you call this evidence? Ideologies, whether policitical, religious, or sectarian, prevent men and women from using their brains and thinking clearly. People become veiled by preconceived notions of good and evil. You can call it brain fogging.
I didnt call it an evidence , and I think my religion is exactly the opposite , it never in any way prevent men and women from thinking, it also insist and encourage us to seek for knowledge,
In verses too numerous to mention, the Quran invites one to reflect upon the signs Of creation: the heavens, the shining stars and their astonishing celestial movements..etc

I think we may still need hundreds of years of science improvement to understand Quran perfectly

I have not tried to lie to anyone about anything, and have made no statement of faith. You are projecting.
You are rude and unreasoning and not worth wasting further time over. I suggest you seek an anger management class. You are obviously incapable of having a rational discussion.

Your religion also tells people that if they dont accept Allah & his messenger, they will burn in hell which I find objectionable. It says in the Koran that "If you obey God and HIS Apostle, you will be admitted to paradise (48:17). The Koran does not provide evidence for anything at all.

What more is there to understand from the Koran when by its own admission, the Koran claims to be clear 5:15, 44:58, and a book whereof the verses are explained in detail 41:01?

We also do not know if the Koran we have today is verbatim the same Koran allegedly dictated by Mohammad. We do not have a copy of the Koran dating back to 632? What Islamic tradition writes does mean that it is true. In my opinion, its all a coverup becuase I am sure these questions cropped up 13 centuries ago. We have no corrobative evidence to substantiate the claim that the Koran existed in its present form during the 7th century. Koran has little merit consisting of declamation, repetition, a lack of logic and coherence , and a mediocre piece of literature. I cannot understand why millions of people are wasting time absorbing it. The orthodox position concerning the collection & codification of the Koran is motivated by dogmatic factors and cannot be supported by historical evidence.

Nina, I promise you that if you ever have a discussion with me you will never be insulted. The flip side to that is that I do not know the Bible. As ex-muslim, I am only familiar with the Koran.

I was raised a Calvinist, and do not know the Koran. What I do know is that you don't seem to reduce yourself to name-calling and derision. I appreciate that.:)
I do like to find out about other cultures and religions and refrain from discounting them because I don't understand them.
What I would like to know is why Christianity and Islam are attacked so frequently when there are many others to choose. What about Hindi? Quite a few of those around. lol
First and foremost, I believe in the rule of nonaggression.

Again, Atheists are not arguing with you. If you have a point to make, you need to present evidence.

A lot of religious people find disbelief offensive. Remember it's YOUR problem and not the problem of Atheists. Once you can get well again, you will be able to join us in the real world where god isnt real and never has been.

If you were able to defend your made up beliefs with evidence, you would not need to attack Atheists.

Evolution is a scientific fact, and that's one of the reasons many people are Atheist.

To say that there is no point being discussed is dishonest at best.

The point as it has always been is:

1. Atheist trying to discuss atheism

2. Constrantly being disrupted, accused & trolled by religious posters who have no morals or balls or points to make.

3. Stupid & naive religious people like you who discovered Topix yesterday, deliberately picking on Atheists, while trying to play victim.

Just admit you have no interest in debate or making any points. You're simply here to antagonise.

If you have any evidence of god, you are welcome to post of course....LMAO.

Nice try, but fake niceness is not going to work here.
Most people coming in here who are *curious* about religions have a religious agenda.
We already know you have a religious agenda, even if you're naive enough to think it isn't showing.

Atheists also like to learn about other cultures & religions. Atheists simply disbelieve in one more god than most religions.

1. The bible states that all atheists are to be regarded as fools, simply for being Atheist. This is completely wrong and false and no religous Christian has ever stood to correct it.
2. Islam says 'kill the unbeliever', again Atheists are demonised by this religion as with many others.
Atheists do not pick on religions. In fact, it is Creationists & other religious cults who come to the Atheist forum to pick fights.
If you want to see real unmitigated hate, just pick up a religious book and ACTUALLY READ IT.
NinaRocks wrote:

Firstly, its Hindu, not Hindi which is a language. Also, when was the last time you read "Atheists are going to Hell" in the Hindu holy book?

The answer is NEVER. That doesn't mean it isn't ignorant though, it just means that they don't wish death upon Atheists, so they get less hostility back.

Remember Atheism - Simple Disbelief in Religion (& Religious Liars)

Atheism is a natural response to Religion, trying to claim respect and authority based on no evidence of god whatsoever - societal fraud.

This is how a lot of religious trolls react when their religious agenda has been exposed for what it is.

I'm not offended by you. I understand its an illness.
