Why does the the relatively new discipline of cognitive science of religion support the claim that we have a Hyperactive Agency Detection Device (HADD), which causes human beings to naturally form beliefs about invisible agents? Considering HADD’s poor track record of producing true beliefs about invisible agents in general, why should we trust it when it produces a belief about one invisible agent, the God of theism?
Just because you cant see something doesnt mean it doesnt exist.
Have you seen Antartica with your own eyes? I mean physically seen it?
No?
Are you going to say because YOU havent seen it therefore it cant exist?
I have not physically seen you but I do believe you are a marxist dirtbag.
Bob of Quantum-Faith wrote:
21 Why does God allow such confusion or disagreement among people, including theists, about what is morally good or bad and morally right or wrong?
People cause moral confusion due to their own self interests or sense of hedonism in the case of atheists.

Why should we believe that, of the innumerable deities worshipped by human beings over the ages, yours is the one that really exists? Why believe in Yahweh rather than Zeus, Odin, Marduk, Ishtar, Osiris, Quetzalcoatl, Madame Pele, Ahura-Mazda, etc., etc., etc.?(HT: Keith Parsons)
Those entities may exist but they are not of a higher state of existence than Jehovah aka The God of Abraham.

So far the dumbo trio aka Club Misotheist has yet to gather a single brainwave between them.
They would be better off smacking their heads together as this is the only way they would get a spark from the neck up.

So no proof of god then liar. Should have shut the f*ck up the first time instead of embarrassing yourself here over and over again.

God isn't real, people that believe in god are mentally ill. These are facts that you have issues with. But they will always remain facts.

There won't be any conversions!
Laughter yes!

Siros a real piece of work!

I wonder they call it down under?

This boys undereducated, under intelligent,
And under deep delusions of grandeur.

If you noticed some odd terms in my reply to this twit - it's basic Australian slang.

For example a "banana bender" lives in Queensland, once derided as being backward where the only native skill was to put a bend in a banana.

Add these to the 20

10 important questions to be asked by any rational person as a guide to the question of whether or not there is a God.

1. If logic is the hallmark that separates man from beast, why is religion then a matter of “faith”, rather than rationality?

2. If something cannot be proved, then why do people continue to believe in it?

3. If there is a God, which is the real one and how come when a culture no longer exists neither do its gods? Isis? Ra? Neptune? Zeus? Apollo? Thor? Quetzacoatle?
-- Alternate Question if 3. Is irrelevant to you –
3a. Why is your religion any more valid than other religions?
Catholic, Protestant (any of many sects) Islam? Judaism?
Hindu?

4. If the Christian God is monotheistic how can it also be triune with Jesus & the Holy Spirit?

5. If God was the father of Jesus via the “immaculate conception”, wasn’t Mary technically raped & impregnated against her will?

6. If Jesus was born to a mother who was unwed doesn’t that make him a bastard?

7. If “Christ died for your sins on the cross”, how much of a sacrifice was it really, considering he’s immortal?

8. Why do people continue to believe in religion’s gods when promises made for thousands of years have yet to be delivered, whereas, science has shown us the earth is NOT flat, the earth revolves around the sun and not the other way around, medicine heals but prayers don’t, and although we can’t literally walk on water we can circumnavigate the globe underwater in a submarine and fly to the moon?

9. If God made the earth and then created a great flood to wipe it out, how could a perfect, infallible being make something needing to be destroyed and begun anew?

10. If God “gave his only son” to save us from our sins, then why do we have to do anything?

LOL!

Love it-- ashtray on a bicycle.

I did see a photo the other day, of a person on oxygen, dying from cancer -- with a full ashtray next to the chair in the background....

... oh, and a cross predominantly placed as well.

Irony?

Yep.

I just made an assumption on the following....
1. You and he post in the same arrogant smug manner.
2. You both refuse to counter argue anything a theist posts and just post dawkinesque one liners.
3. You both cut n paste without reference to the original site.
4. You both endlessly and pointlessly spam.
.
I can only say that I suspect that you and he are the same, but if you argue that you are different individuals then your brain dead misotheist cult has molded you both into a singular sociopathic mind.

Atheism = a lack of believe in god

Theism = a common mental illness based on the willful ignorance of scientific facts.

I give it a 75% on the irony meter

I believe the drongo from down under is bipolar
Now he thinks you and I are the same Individual

I'm willing to wager that The primary thing you and I share in common is our fierce loyalty to liberalism and freethinking we will not be dominated by religious fantasy and Dogma addicted people hate that independence

It threatens their fragile fantasy world

Proselytizing to the max

Posting useless scripture as if we gave a good Rats behind

"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you mad."

Yep. I love your Huxley one, though--

-- few religious folk are aware of just how complex things are, at the nano-scale level. It would literally blow their pea-brains to mush.

The latest thing? It's currently only a hypothesis, but Dr Tyson commented that there is some quantum-physics study that seems to indicate that at the quantum-physics level, there's a kind of checksum going on-- you remember I'm sure, that a checksum is a very simple method of redundancy to verify binary data.

But this latest finding is pretty cool: it seems that there is kind of a checksum engine going on at the very smallest of sizes.

Note-- this is string theory, which is still "just a theory".:D

The video includes a question by Dr Tyson.
