good v bad god

often I try to explain that I know people who self-identify as Christians, who are trying to rewrite their religion to make a good God. I do not think it can be done and still carry within it any of the essentials of Christian dogma, but I do think a good god could be thought up.
One, it would need to co-exist with a great many other causes of what is and of what has been and what will be. It would have to have very little power. Maybe all the principles of nature would have to be as they are, and not have been created by that god, at least. They could have been created by some not nice god, or by a committee.
It would need to be very inept at communicating itself to people, and overwhelmed by bad propaganda from other claimants. so I would feel sorry for it. it would need lots of help from people to try to make the world better.
