Why Atheism Will Replace Religion

Aug 27, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: News24

Please note that for this article "Atheism" also includes agnostics, deists, pagans, wiccans... in other words non-religious.

You will notice this is a statement of fact. And to be fact it is supported by evidence (see references below). Now you can have "faith" that this is not true, but by the very definition of faith, that is just wishful thinking.

Yawn....
" Religions and science answer different questions about the world.... Science is a way of knowing about the natural world. It is limited to explaining the natural world through natural causes. Science can say nothing about the supernatural. Whether God exists or not is a question about which science is neutral."
Teaching about Evolution and Science,
The American National Academy of Sciences (NAS)(1998)
"Scientism, the view that science can explain all human conditions and expressions, mental as well as physical, is a superstition, one of the dominant superstitions or our day; and it is not an insult to science to say so."
The New York Times, Leon Wieseltier ,American writer, critic, and magazine editor.
Ouch!
Religion attempts to explain WHO God is.

Science attempts to explain WHAT God has made.

Let us look at Christianity for a moment.

The Christian idol is a dead man on a cross.

Supposedly there is a story here, but at the base of it, there is a corpse nailed on a cross after the rigors of a horrific death and the stupid buggers pray to it.

Christianity claims Jesus/God is a creature of love, yet, more people have been murdered in the name of Jesus, god, or religion than any other reason.( and yes, Hitler believed in god.....and I'll successfully argue that Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao etc were also religious leaders.)

Christianities only reward is after death....assuming you have kissed holy ass for your lifetime you get to kiss holy ass for eternity.

Christianity is a religion of death and an ideology of a wasted life.

So you are saying half the English population rates lower than the other half. Seems reasonable.

It is still a belief system, and a very illogical one at that because to hold the atheist belief system one has to ignore 40,000+ years of intense human interest and activity centered around spiritual perceived events and forces. No scientist in their right mind would ignore the huge weight of this evidence of Something more than physical forces operating on the human mind. And now brain science has found our human brains are actually hardwired to have religious experiences, and as a former atheist who underwent such experience I know that all atheists are just talking utter blather about reality that they only partially perceive and think, that they aren't blind because atheism is actually an ego trip ideology held by people like you who will probably never look at any evidence that overturns your ego platform based on battling fundamentalist Christianity as the easy target it is and therefore "safe" for psuedo-rationalism, i.e., atheism.
Only agnosticism is a valid philosophical stance that follows the Scientific Method. Atheism has already made up its mind by ignoring any evidence to the contrary of the ideology. Which makes atheism exactly like any other fundamentalist belief system.
Atheism is saying unicorns have not been proven to exist so therefore one does not accept their existence.
Agnosticism is saying that unicorns may exist but no evidence has occurred to prove it.
It is not much of a philosophical difference.

In September 1943, Adolf Hitler, furious at the ouster of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, suspected Pope Pius XII of encouraging his ally's removal. The Führer sent German troops into Rome and ordered SS General Karl Wolff, Heinrich Himmler's chief aide, to occupy the Vatican, assassinate the curia, and kidnap -- and perhaps kill -- Pope Pius XII.

Concurrently, the Nazi high command was planning to deport Rome's Jews to Auschwitz. Wolff began executing a risky strategy designed to save his own skin: stalling Hitler's plot against the Pope, with the hope that the respected Pontiff would rescue him if Germany lost the war. To keep Pius from enraging Nazi officials by speaking out against the roundup of Jews, Wolff and his fellow conspirators tried to intimidate him into silence, hoping that Hitler would withdraw his order.

Incorrect. Statistics show more people by far have died at the hands of nations that promoted atheism as government policy.

The atheist world view.
"You are the descendant of a tiny cell of primordial protoplasm washed up on an empty beach three and a half billion years ago. You are the blind and arbitrary product of time, chance and natural forces.. You are a mere grab bag of of atomic particles, a conglomeration of genetic substance. You exist on a tiny planet in a minute solar system in an empty corner of a meaningless universe.. You are a purely biological entity, different only in degree but not in kind from a microbe, virus or amoeba. You have no essence beyond your body, and at death you will cease to exist entirely. In short, you came from nothing and are going nowhere."

The Christian world view
"You are the special creation of a good all powerful God. You are created in His image, with capacities to think, feel and worship that set you above all other life forms. You differ from the animals not simply in degree but in kind. Not only is your kind unique, but you are unique among your kind. Your Creator loves you so much and so intensely desires your companionship and affection that He has a perfect plan for your life. In addition,God gave the life of His only son that you might spend eternity with Him. If you are willing to accept the gift of salvation, you can become a child of god."

But there is no evidence to back up Christian teachings. And it's clear that the belief that the buy-bull is all literally true is absurd.

Only 2000 years of Christian history to back up Christian teachings.

You may be a fundamental atheist if...

You become upset when a Christian says that not everything in the Bible should be taken literally.
