Why Atheism Will Replace Religion

There are 14730 comments on the News24 story from Aug 27, 2012, titled Why Atheism Will Replace Religion. In it, News24 reports that:

Please note that for this article "Atheism" also includes agnostics, deists, pagans, wiccans... in other words non-religious.

You will notice this is a statement of fact. And to be fact it is supported by evidence (see references below). Now you can have "faith" that this is not true, but by the very definition of faith, that is just wishful thinking.

A comforting fantasy, is still a fantasy. Why delude yourself?
Atheists believe in "reality"? LOL

Which reality is that, bubba?

What you call "reality" is simply your own personal mental construct of "reality" and each of the 7 billion other humans on this planet have their own personal mental construct of "reality". Each person's version of "reality" is as unique and individual as snowflake patterns. Quantum physics says that its entirely possible that the "reality" your brain has constructed from everything it THINKS it can see, feel, taste, touch, or smell may "in reality" be derived from a three-dimensional holographic image of stored data projected on to the 2-D surface that surrounds us. So when you say that atheists believe in "reality", which reality are you talking about? Hmmmmm......?

There is no scientific evidence for atheism,
just an old Greek Philosophy.
Most atheists prove to be agnostics when they pause to think.
Interesting point.

Seems to me the posters on this thread who call themselves "atheists" are really anti-theists rather than atheists. I say this because when I was an atheist, I didn't give a rat's ass what other people believed. I owned what I believed and didn't seek anybody's approval or validation, but these anti-theists seem to be totally obsessed with what other people believe and validating their own beliefs. Very curious....

A. Jesus was Essene, not "Jewish".

B. You have zero understanding of what "faith" is.

C. You have zero understanding of anything Jesus taught.

The observable testable one. Why do theists work so hard to change the subject instead of showing proof their god exists?

Nope. We come to the atheism forum to discuss atheism.

You are free to believe in your cozy little delusion all you want. Just keep it private in the home and church and stop trying to force it down other's throats.

You mean an Essene Jew? You didn't know that Essenes were Jews did you?

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essenes

And there is no historical proof Jesus ever existed so calling him an Essene Jew is fan fiction.

Care to fail again?

Lots of things exist, but that's not the question. The question is: is there any scientific evidence which supports atheism? The answer is an unequivocal NO.

I agree, it’s a very interesting article but I would add that to determine why we have a lack of religion in certain areas we must first look why religion has been so remarkably strong, over so many centuries, in the first place. The reason seems obvious:
The only reason for any religion to flourish is the shameless indoctrination of children in religious dogma long before they can make intelligent evaluations of the ideas. How can people talk about a Christian or Muslim child? Is that any different than talking about a post-modernist or socialist child?
Travel away from Earth at the speed of light for half an hour and you would enter the frozen realm of the outer Solar System. Out here are planets that are nothing but atmosphere - unimaginably vast balls of churning gas and ice. These are alien, chaotic worlds with storms large enough to swallow Earth three times over and winds screaming across their surface at nearly the speed of sound – no God no religion!

Proof of the existence of a First Cause aka God, Creator, Cosmic Consciousness, Force, etc. has existed for centuries, ever since Newton wrote the laws of causality.

Proof of the ridiculous strawman god you continue to obsessively recycle and compulsively resurrect in all your posts has never ever existed, bubba.

Atheism is neither a believe system nor is it a religion; your question is entirely irrelevant and extraneous ...
