Why Atheism Will Replace Religion

There are 14730 comments on the News24 story from Aug 27, 2012, titled Why Atheism Will Replace Religion. In it, News24 reports that:

Please note that for this article "Atheism" also includes agnostics, deists, pagans, wiccans... in other words non-religious.

You will notice this is a statement of fact. And to be fact it is supported by evidence (see references below). Now you can have "faith" that this is not true, but by the very definition of faith, that is just wishful thinking.

Everything I have stated is relevant. Again it was you who went after me for saying I have no fear of death as it is a natural part of life. You were the one screaming idiot at me for merely voicing my opinion. You called me the idiot not the other way around.

And honestly I shouldn't have to explain this yet again.

Perhaps you need to take a breath and go back and read what you posted?

That and stop using creationist website arguments.

<quoted text>Apologies if I came across like a "screaming idiot", perhaps if you hadn't insisted on patronising my original opinion then we wouldn't have ended up in this rather pointless argument (CONSIDERING I SHARE YOUR VIEW POINT FOR THE MAJORITY OF THIS ARGUMENT).

Once again, I am NOT conservative. I am socialist.

Incase your short-term memory loss occurs again, once more I AM AGNOSTIC.

I'm not a parrot, so i'm not going to repeat myself again.

Hope you have a nice day, respond to me if you actually have anything relevant to say.

I didn't lie. He was a philosopher. Not a scientist. He wrote a book before he died. It was not a science book.

Do you have scientific evidence that this universe-creating entity of yours exists?

Again with the creationist website talking points?

Okay last time and honestly I shouldn't have to hold your hand and explain this yet again.

We have no observable evidence for any god, none, whatsoever and I think you would agree with that. So since we have no evidence we don't have knowledge of a god so in that regards I would be an agnostic. Now seeing as how we have no evidence god is even there let alone what they/he/she would expect of us I have no reason to believe in a god so in that regards I am an atheist. Atheism is merely the default position.

So how is not believing in a fact free made up assertion being a zealot all rigid in your belief?

Show me evidence of a god and I will consider believing until then I have no reason to believe.

It sounds like being reasonable to me.
Kesla15 wrote:

You obviously have some chip on your shoulder against anyone who doesn't agree with your views.

In the same way I smile and wave at Christian zealouts, I do the same to you, i'm happy that you have found a belief that you are certain of. However, not all of us are convinced either way. Because as of yet, no religion has been proved or disproved.

There is no education there. In fact your post was anti-education.

TB is a condition, not a species. It is caused by numerous species of mycobacteria.

"The M. tuberculosis complex (MTBC) includes four other TB-causing mycobacteria: M. bovis, M. africanum, M. canetti, and M. microti."
<quoted text>
No, but it is evidence.
<quoted text>
I chose my words carefully. The problem is your monumentally massive fundamentalist ego instantly assumes that to disagree with you equals disagreeing with God Himself, when in reality I am just disagreeing with just another fundie with delusions of grandeur and adequacy.

No, theories CONTAIN facts. The EXPLAIN facts. Like the theory of gravity. It is a fact that an apple if dropped with fall to the Earth. The THEORY of gravity EXPLAINS this fact.
Not that I should bother pointing this out since you don't even BELIEVE in the theory of gravity.
<quoted text>
Not at all. I'm still waiting for you to address them.(shrug)

What is that now 14 and counting, and still no 100% factual evidence for evolution, I am not surprised. So you can cut and paste wow what a thrill you TB c&p still does not prove evolution. Once again let me tell you the fact that adaptation is not evolution it is an inbuilt design feature built in by GOD during creation.

How would waiting for you to produce the 100% factual evidence you claim, me lying once again you prove you lack of logic in argument. Good “theories CONTAIN facts” so evolution is not a fact now we are getting to the bottom of your argument, first you claim evolution is a fact now you agree that it is a myth, well done.

Again right I do not believe in the “theory” of gravity I believe in the fact of gravity.

The bible could be correct? The earth could be square flat and resting on pillars? Killing a cow at the river could show who a mystery murderer is? If a woman is raped she should be forced to marry a man? Killing a bird and sprinkling it's blood on the ground is a legit cure for diseases?

I could keep going but all of these cases could be correct?
Kesla15 wrote:
<quoted text>Personally my belief in evolution has nothing to do with my agnostic beliefs.

Because I see evolution as fact, there is proof all around us, even if you look at parent-child relationships you can see how the child mimics the phenotype of his / her parents.

As an agnostic, yes I say that the Bible COULD be correct, but I also believe it COULD be wrong. I'm not convinced enough either way so I just don't follow atheism or christianity. However, I do lean more towards athiesm than chrisianity, because the concept of a Bible created around 2000 years ago, by human beings, that supposedly explains the meaning of life, DOES seem a bit too farfetched.

As quoted in Wikipedia (as much as I hate using wiki) bellow.

"Natural selection is the gradual, non-random process by which biological traits become either more or less common in a population as a function of differential reproduction of their bearers.......... The term "natural selection" was popularized by Charles Darwin who intended it to be compared with artificial selection, what we now call selective breeding."

Then yes

Gravity does not address the origin mass because gravity and mass are not related,
Wow. Just wow.
if you remove the origin of life form the myth of evolution you have no beginning therfroe no evolution which would be a good thing.
And evolution does not deal with the origin of life. It deals with how biological species change over time. If life was created by special intervention by your deity, evolution would still be a fact: biological species still change over time. If life began in a deep sea vent, evolution would still hold: biological species still change over time. If life was brought to earth by aliens, evolution would still hold: biological species still change over time.

So no, the theory of evolution does *not* depend on the specifics of how life originated. It is a theory about the mechanisms of how biological species change over time. And it is a *fact* that biological species do change over time.
By the way I am still waiting for my 100% factual proof for evolution you have now responded 5 times since I asked yet have produced none.
OK, the biological species that existed 50 million years ago are different than the species that exist today. This can be seen through the fossil evidence. So evolution does happen.

The species that existed 50 million years ago are different than the species that exist today. Most of the modern species simply didn't exist at that time. Hence, biological species change over time. That is evolution.

Change with in species is all that happens it is called adaptation not evolution, as I have said so many time adaptation is an inbuilt design feature, designed by GOD, and inserted during creation.

And again the myth of evolution does need to have an origin, you need a starting point. With out it there is no evolution.
