Why Atheism Will Replace Religion

Aug 27, 2012 Full story: News24 14,477

Please note that for this article "Atheism" also includes agnostics, deists, pagans, wiccans... in other words non-religious.

You will notice this is a statement of fact. And to be fact it is supported by evidence (see references below). Now you can have "faith" that this is not true, but by the very definition of faith, that is just wishful thinking. Full Story

Spaghetti monsters for instance are for such people a possibility too. As for me I keep on the reality. No reality means for me nonexistance. No heaven, no Devil, no hell and so on.
Reality equals nonexistence? So, you are a nihilist? Leaving room for possibilities no matter how remote those possibilities may be does not mean that one leaves reality behind.
It is possible that there may be a something resembling a god but honestly, does it really matter? No proof, no way to disprove, why worry?

Matt 25:41 "Depart from me, you accursed, into that eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels".

2 Thessalonians 1:9 "These will pay the penalty of eternal ruin, separated from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power".

2 Peter 2:4 "God did not spare the angels who fell into sin; he thrust them down to hell, chained them there in the abyss, to await their sentence in torment".

Rv 14:11 "The smoke of the fire that torments them will rise forever and ever, and there will be no relief day or night for those who worship the beast or its image or accept the mark of its name".

Yes...I know what the Jews thought of as sheol.

Mark 10:21-25 Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!” The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

...so if the rich man didn`t enter the kingdom of god...where then did he go? Somewhere completely undesirable.

He's not saying he worries about anything.
He simply said he doesn't believe in a god and wishes to stick to what we know for a fact is real, where's the worry?

WHere does any of that mention "hell"? Did Jesus say that the rich man would go to hell? No, he sad it would be difficult for him to enter the kindom of heaven. Maybe you should look into how greek mythology influenced the NT. None of that "hell" stuff is in the OT. Apparently something got mixed up in translation. Try talking to a Jew about hell. blah blah blah... Jesus (according to the bible) promoted chatiy not socialism.

01 This is your mistake to take "science" as you god. It is a tool which has limitations, both in capability as well as in scope. It deals only with materialistic issues and nothing else.
02 If you were "not present" when things were created, why not "accept the words of one who created it all"?
Why look at "scraps and bits" from here and there, when the "Authorized info" is available from the "most reliable source"
03. Humanity is not in danger from religion, it is in danger from human greed and exploit weaker people and nations.
Which religion was responsible for WW-1 and WW-2 and Cold war?.
Islamic Jihad is fight against injustice, mischief, corruption and tyranny in the land. If you are opposed to Islamic Jihad then you are supporting all these things do you?
04. It is not religion that shall punish you, but the Creator for your rejection of His message and His guidance.
If you think you are "battle hardened enough" to bear it, make your choice.
But to me it looks like a poor and absurd choice.
Do they teach you that is your military training? To make poor and absurd choice?
05. Well you are not going to any angel (in this life) so better talk to politicians, who live in air conditioned offices and send you people to rough it out in the battle field.
01. More like an acquaintance. All indicators point towards a material world, it only makes sense to study it.

02. All you have are words, born in human imagination, echoed through the ages by cowering savages.

03. Were those aspects not present when religion was born? It is the child of such parents. You live in a land where religion dominates every aspect of your life. Our freedom is in danger.

There would be no war without the willingness to die for God and Country. They are so intertwined you cannot separate them. If not a cause then certainly an ingredient.

All caused by 'infidels'(aka non-followers of Islam) which just happens to put you at odds with most of the civilized world.

When I was in the seismic business, I usually felt pretty 'safe'. We were there, after all, finding oil at the request and behest of whatever 'regime' happened to be in power. Your very own leaders greed protected us. It would sometimes almost make me sick how so little of that oil money 'trickled down' to the poor. Your 'governments' are ruthless and use religion to keep you people ignorant and chasing imaginary enemies while they live in unimaginable excess. But, don't feel bad ... the same thing happens 'over here' as well.

04. Oh, okay. I'll just hold my breath ...

"Battle hardened"? Me? LOL ... I'm a 60 year old marshmallow. I pulled some Guard Duty toting a World War II vintage M1 Garand. The military mainly taught me how to type ... not knowing how handy that skill would be in the computerized future.

05. Really? Like your 'politician-priests' don't huddle in air-conditioned bunkers plotting their next mind-control strategy or how they will hide their immense wealth from the common folk or how to make the Western world seem the enemy when it's really them? At least I'm AWARE that I'm being screwed. They have you people so befuddled, you don't know if you're coming or going.

am I talking about Judaism? I`m talking about the christian faith one of whose core tenets, either explicit or implied is eternal damnation for unforgiven sins.

You can attempt to spin it any way you like but the catholic church, which is after all the oldest christian church, all others are apostates will tell you in no uncertain terms where you are bound if you do not keep the lawdds commandments.

Other little christian cults like The Western Branch of American Reform Presbylutheranism may feel they have the answer but then all the answers are incorrect.

You do not go to `gods abode` if you neglect the poor.

We have conveniently shifted from the notion that jesus was a marxist egalitarian to whether there is a hell. This is quite common among christian republicans who cant reconcile the concept of christian charity with their political leanings calling for less social welfare and smaller government.

What was Joseph told by god to do when he was warned of the famine approaching Egypt? RAISE TAXES!

Even your god is a god of big government.

01. There is another type of Hallucination when you "refuse" to see things which are in front of you. If you cannot "see" the Creator after seeing so many of His Creation, then you are indeed suffering from this type of Hallucination.
02. If you do not believe in any religion it does not give you "free ticket" to abuse, insult and profanity at their religious heads.
This also counts towards blasphemy.
03. Treason is against a state and treason is also against the Creator. Treason against the state is punishable in this world and Treason against the Creator is punishable in the Next World.
So don’t be overly confident about your stand.
04. Consider yourself luck that you came back alive after so many terms in Iraq and Afghanisatn. Many of your colleagues came back in Body bags and many more are living as invalids.
I do not know who protected you from harm? Darwin, Newton, Einstein or GWB the Great or Obama?
05. Islamic WAQF is more comprehensive than religious endowments of Christians. It has helped maintenance of hundreds of thousands of mosques and Islamic schools of learning for many centuries.
06. Good that you learn some thing about Islamic law.
07. Considering that your members of parliament and assemblies do "all the thinking for you in law making"
And your judges and lawyers do "all the thinking for you" in interpreting laws.
And your "Physicians" do "all the thinking for you in "matters relating to your body".
And your Engineers and your Military Commanders do "all the thinking for you"…

What is wrong if "Our religious scholars, who have devoted considerable portion of their lives in study of Islamic law" should do the likewise for matters considering the religion?
Why only the religion should be exception?
Why should I forget it?
There is obviously something wrong with you, I think the Mabahith should read a few of your posts...

Very well said! Islam is such a hodge podge collection of desert myths it's hard to know where to start. No wonder Muslims are always at each other's throats! You have this Quran which steals from the Torah, the gospels and even children's tales like friggen Aladdin! Yes the big blue genie plays a serious role in their religion!

Wtf!
