Perhaps, but for sure there are idiots who think a god created everything.

One of the big debates currently in theoretical physics is between Loop Quantum Gravity and String Theory. Both purport to be quantum theories of gravity, but they make different predictions about the very early universe and/or what was before our universe. The 'Big Bounce' of LQG is only one of the possibilities.

But yes, it is interesting. It would be nice if we could figure out a way to test between the different possibilities.

Since christianity in North America alone has about 38,000 variations of what god is, I hardly think it is any christians place to suggest anyone is confused!
<quoted text>
Theists will take any answer to anything providing it supports their delusion.
<quoted text>
What was there before god, any idea? It is suggested that god has always been. If it is possible for something like god to always be then perhaps the universe has always been.
If a god was required to create everything, where did the matter to create come from?.........did god pull it all out of his ass?
<quoted text>
Theists are too stupid to reply to "who created the creator". When they get confused they sound just like you!

This time, the only thing I have learned from you is that there is absolutely no truth in hostility. When a debator uses hostility with his or her words, it only proves that he or she is desperately
verbal juggling to promote balderdash. The arrogance of atheists has never ceased amazing me. I would like to understand why atheists need to show how arrogant they can be. A message pushed forward with arrogance will never find a heart to consider what it
is trying to convey.

You seem to have found a way to avoid the argument; deflect.

Too bad, you are so weak.

<quoted text>If the bible has been right about anything it will have been entirely by chance and not inspiration.

The bible that we know was written by men for their own purpose and and not contracted out nor inspired by some god.

The idea that the bible was written by some divine inspiration has never been properly investigated nor has it been proved.

God, itself has never been proved to exist either, for that matter. To assume a book has been divinely inspired will require first a proof of there being a god....then we can decide if the bible has any value to it.

<quoted text>------

And how did George Lemaitre find out the big bang in 1922, by inspiration or by chance? Besides, you seem to have been listening to too many theists of "talking serpents". God did not inspire anyone to write anything. The writers of the books in the Bible were inspired to write what they did. Then for the sake of piety they attributed it to "The Great Spirit" Creator of the universe.

Do you know why Carl Sagan referred to the big bang as "our modern myth" in his book "Cosmos" p. 285? Because it has never been investigated beyond the shadow of a doubt that the universe has indeed come out of a bang.
Don't wake them up. Let them keep on dreaming of this thing they call the big bang. It won't be anything like the big burst. That will be right after they die then their self inflated worth will be the first thing to pop in the flames.

Thank you KJV but I am sorry to contradict you by saying that what expects us all after we die is the grave. That's what hell means according to Judaism. It is because of this kind of Christian literal beliefs that atheists laugh at all theists without distinction.

And another idiot refuses to understand metaphorical language. God does not have image. Jesus himself said that God is pure Spirit. Spirits don't have image.(John 4:24) Man was created in the metaphorical image of God's attributes. Hence the reference is only to man and not to animals.

Of course god doesn't have an image, or a presence......god is just a metaphor. God is just a metaphor for bible monkeys to assign their own attributes to a non-entity.

The Hubble diagram

The Red Shift of distant stars and galaxies

The CMB.

All these indicate one scenario, our universe was once smaller than it is now. However the scientific theory does not say that at some time in the past "all things were concentrated in a point”. That’s what you think it says, so you are not arguing against the real theory but your belief of what that theory says.

And of course nucleosynthesis indicates a colossal and violent event.

This is of course typical Ben, living under the mistaken impression that everyone sees things on his particular terms. For your edification (not that it will do any good)– if there is no actual proof of the event but there is evidence to indicate a situation, the plausibility and probability of that situation is considered and weighed against other evidence. The BB “was” considered to be the most likely scenario and is currently among the general population the most popular. That does not mean it is the only scenario, see the ekpyrotic scenario and as far as I know there are around 30 other valid possibilities.

The evidence shows that the universe is expanding, meaning that yesterday it was smaller than it is now and a week ago it was smaller still and 13.7 billion years ago it was (probably) tiny.

The expansion can be shown using any of the methods/evidences listed above, unlike god who can’t be shown by any method, scientific or otherwise.

Note that you are the one claiming to believe in probability, but I suppose only when that probability suites your sensibilities.
