I wouldn't call all fundamentalists liars. Christians, yes but some of us observe the Torah laws. We're not supposed to lie to each other but everybody does. Sort of like the pot calling the kettle black?

Not true in either case.
The cops I've known have had their flaws and peculiarities, but they have been honest to a fault. I'm sure there are corrupt cops, especially in larger metro areas, but I'm just as sure that they are anomalous. Cops put their lives on the line, too, in case you didn't know.
Atheistic soldiers are more common that you might think, too. The "no atheists in foxholes" fallacy has been disproven many times over.
Only abject ignorance explains the above post.

There is nothing left of Carter's legacy-- Reagan-the-brain-dead dismantled it entirely.

And started us down the road to SPEND-SPEND-SPEND-SPEND-TILL-W E-DROP.

Carried on by Bush 1. Briefly slowed, then stopped by Clinton. But re-started and multiplied by an order of magnitude by Bush2.

And we are suffering from it even still...

... Obama has managed to slow, then stop it once more-- apart from the WARS he inherited from Bush2, of course-- those, he is TRYING to stop (and I fault him for not trying hard enough).

Deficit spending DOES seem to be a Republican Mantra. Why not? They are hell-bent on getting RICH, no matter what-- and feeding no-bid government spending into a privately-held company WILL make a person rich, if they KNOW about it ahead of time...

... as Cheny did with Haliburton.(for example)

Yep.

Reagan started with the regulation-dismantling. And it was continued under subsequent ReThugs--

-- witness the Texas plant that BLEW UP, due to NO REGULATIONS IN PLACE.

And now? The ReThug from Texas has the brass ones to DEMAND government bail out-- FOR SOMETHING THE RETHUGS DELIBERATELY CAUSED BY DE-REGULATION!

<quoted text> Clinton left us a surplus, Bush left us a deficit. The recession that Bush faced was a minor one as you said, caused by the internet bubble. It was not a big thing like the recession of 2008. There was no real regulation under Bush, that is why people like Bernie Madoff were able to get away for so long.
<quoted text> Bush pulled out troops necessary for the war in Afghanistan for the war in Iraq. That is why the terrorists made gains there.
Yep. ReThugs are all for de-regulation--it lets the profiteers rake in more $$, at the expense of LIVES of the lower-classes.

But that hardly affects the top 1% does it? Oh poo-- they have to hire a new pool guy, as the original one died in an explosion... how inconvenient.

1) no-- atheists do not "just believe"-- atheists demand PROOF, and FACTS and such things. "just believe" is what you morons of faith do....

2) the universe is an UNCAUSED event. Go study Quantum Mechanics for how that works-- QM has more facts, more proof, more study than about anything in science. It is well established fact.

What's more?

QM, since it is a non-causal system? Proves to 100% that an OMNISCIENT GOD cannot exist in a Quantum-mechanical universe.

The very fact OF omniscience would DESTROY a quantum-mechanical universe.

*poof* there goes your god-- gone from experimental PROOF.

I am sorry for your loss (of self-respect)

Exactly.

I did not set OUT to become an atheist. I DID set out to discover the FACTS of our reality, our Universe.

From studying these FACTS, I came to realize that I was an atheist after all.

Atheism is a result of STUDY of the UNIVERSE.

My impression too, but perhaps delusional is more accurate and less insulting than idiocy? The delusion is more understandable too as religious faith is common enough in the USA.(Even Eurotrash like me knows that :-)

Both are present, one the cause, the other an effect--delusion often causes people to write idiotic posts.

Yes.

It's just that any insult or rudeness seems shocking when it's from you. It's uncommon and doesn't seem characteristic, if you don't mind the comment. And we non-believers seem to be getting a bit of a reputation for bad manners and disrespectful behavior.'Bad-mouthed atheist' seems to be becoming a stereotype and we could probably do without it here. JMHO.(Not that I'm guiltless, I just think we should blame you for everything :-)

I sincerely believe the word of God, and what I write but I am not delusional. I am a nut (Psalm 38:7) but haven't bee hospitalized since January 1986. I know the truth is hard to swallow and I'm actually very lucid. The belief in God in and of itself is crazy.

Who knows?
But I do know the story in the Buy-bull is crap.
I know plants can't grow without the sun.
I know the earth isn't flat.
I know men and women have different DNA.

Often fundies use the "god of the gaps" fallacy.
Basically, that's saying that since we don't have a full scientific explanation of something, then "God must have done it!".

She's just inconsistent enough to make me suspect she's only pretending to be this much of an idiot.

I could be wrong-- it is possible that she has suffered some sort of brain damage or exposure to toxic chemicals at some point.

I hope not-- really-- that much brain damage would be tragic.

I really hate to see people suffer from brain damage-- that was one of the first things, way-back when, that made me doubt the whole idea of a "loving god".... what sort of ugly deity would allow a baby to be born with only a partial brain?

... meh.

Most non-religious-believers only believe that evolution seems the best explanation currently available to us to explain how man came to be on the Earth (and nowhere else, apparently). It is Abrahamic religionists who,(according to some theology), apparently believe humans were creations of an Abrahamic god(s).

In other words, atheists are rational.
