I heard many atheists say, the Bible is a fairy tale, it's a 2000year old fairy designed by some man who wanted to free his imagination, and write stories.

But is the Bible really a fairy tale. A fairy tale is a book written for small children, so why is it banned in 53countries of the world. Who bans a fairy tale story.

Talking animals. Check

Magic. Check

Happy ending. Check (At least for the true believers, who live literally happily ever after. Everyone else, not so much.)

Evil villain. Check.

Yup, it's a fairy tale all right, although the bearded jehovah makes a really weird fairy godmother.

The evil is the atheists and the Good is the Christians. I think I can make a movie out of this. The Good vs Evil

Is the bible a fairy tale?

NO

IT IS A HISTORICAL DOCUMENT BASED ENTIRELY ON A SPECIFIC RELIGIOUS BELIEF

"fairy tales" are similar in that they evoke superstition as does religion.

The definition as follows...

A fanciful tale of legendary deeds and creatures, usually intended for children.
A fictitious, highly fanciful story or explanation.

Harry Potter is a fairy tale.
Christian groups all over America worked to ban Harry Potter from their communities.

In fact Christian groups have banned other fairy tales as well. Brothers Grimm, Aesop's Fables, etc.

You know why? Because they feature "magic" but not "Christians Magic".
The 53 countries around the world which have banned the Bible did so because it features "Christian Magic" not "Muslim Magic" or "Zulu Magic" or "Whatever Magic".

So, the answer is:
Anyone who wants people to not be able to choose a different fictional magic over their personal fictional magic bans the opposition.

They are all fairy tales and all fairy tale worshiping groups behave the same one. Especially Christians.

No, it is a horror story that Steven King would be proud of.

Kids believe in fairy tales. They believe in the monster under their bed. They believe in Santa. When they get older someone tells them they aren't real and they realise that they aren't real. Your myth is propagated because some adults keep telling the kids that their myths are real because they are in charge of churches and have political power, and they cannot keep that power unless adults still believe in their fairy tales. Satan lives under the bed. Jesus is supposed to come along and give everyone goodies. Just like the bed-monster and Santa. You will then tell us how the abilities of the bed-monster and Santa violate all known physics which is why they aren't true, but will then ignore that when it comes to the miracles invoked in your own fairy-tales.

Adults believe in making Richard Dawkins
rich by buying his books, LOL.

No scientific proof for atheism.

Because gee, there's a shortage of books written by idiotic creationist apologists, right?
Lincoln wrote:

Actually if you consider the fact that there is ZERO evidence for theism then that would at least make the position of atheism a reasonable scientific hypothesis at this point, if not ultimately testable. However that is actually the PROBLEM of the concept of a deity - it is a non-testable, non-falsifiable and therefore non-scientific concept.

He was challenged when he took his position of course, by a fellow theist compatriot of yours who also hates the US Constitution. Thankfully religious freedom was upheld by the courts until such time you are able to establish theocracy in America. Until then I guess you'll be working towards that end by further praying for Jesus to come back.

In science, when there is no proof for something and no evidence to suggest it, and no mechanism by which it can exist or act as a force, it's safe to assume that that thing does not exist.

The lack of proof is the whole point.

WAAAAAAAAAAY more politicians than you know are atheists. They just pretend to be religious because they know the voters are idiots.

If we do not know that these politicians are atheists ,it is in your words, "safe to assume that that thing does not exist."

No proof of atheism so assume that the argument lack merit?

President Obama and VP Biden are both practicing Christians.

Fundamentalist Christianity and Fundamentalist Atheism both quote English translations of the Bible world for word.

Odd how similar their arguments and their methods of debate.

Both seem intolerant when this is pointed out :-)

You are making the mistake of thinking that Atheism is a "thing". It's not. It's the absence of a thing.

Bald is not a haircut. It is the absence of hair.
Drought is not a kind of precipitation. It is the absence of water.

There are 15,000 religions. You are atheistic about 14,999. We are just 1 smarter than you.

The proof comes from proof positive + proof negative + logic. Its already been proven. The fact is that god isn't real.

If you make a claim that "god is possible" it is up to you to prove it. Until then, there's officially no such thing as god.
The Dude wrote:

Entirely wrong. The cool thing about deities is that they were invented by human beings.

So they CAN be tested. We can see if a person is lying by the claims he attaches to his deity - the main claim is that he thinks god is real.

We can test this claim because physics and logic already provide the framework for measuring physical reality.

Don't believe the Dude, he doesn't fully understand atheism and does not speak for it.

Atheism is a lack of belief in god. There is no fundamentalism associated with atheism.

Once again, Skippy. You've overstepped your bounds.

There is no "positive proof".
However, there is no "negative proof", nor can there be. You can not prove a negative.

Therefore your logic is based on an incomplete understanding.

While I agree that the Christians "God" is not real, you can't claim to have proven that it is not real because one of the characteristics of this fantasy character is that it exists outside of reality.

You undercut the side of rationalism when you make non-rational claims.

Claiming you have "proof" that God does not exist is as invalid as Christians claiming that they have "proof" that he does exist.

As for possibilities, in science there is ALWAYS a possibility. That's what makes science science and not make believe.

I haven't made any claims. God isn't real isn't a claim it is a fact based on current evidence, both proof positive and negative.

As both you and The dude and uneducated in the rules of a discussion, here is a reminded of what they are:

http://godlesspaladin.files.wordpress.com/201...

You will find both of you have broke all the rules and are no different from a theist in your logical and reasoning capacity.
