If one's motto can be derived from one's behaviors? Then the motto of Genuine Christians™ could be "Who Would Jesus Hate". If you factor in the number of gun nuts? It could be "Who Would Jesus Shoot" ... meh.

Khatru wrote: <quoted text> I miss Richard Feynman. I always remember watching an episode of Horizon on BBC and the whole show was an interview with the great man. Wonderful television. Oddly enough, my first exposure to him was from listening to "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" on a program called "Reading Aloud" on public radio. It was wonderful to know the man through his humor before understanding some of its accompanying genius.

I plan to re-use it in the future, and I'd love to give credit where it's due. :D That was mine, or at least independent discovery. Please use it freely (same goes with anything I say on this forum).

I will--it is a beautiful demonstration on the gradualism that is the core of the evolution process. It brings it down to earth in a way than anyone can understand-- well, anyone who's brains are not mush. :)

Freedom of speech has to do with the government not impeding your speech it does not grant you a forum to do it and if you purposely go somewhere that you know your opinion is not wanted and force it anyways you can't complain when you get called out and treated harshly. Why? Because you brought it on yourself half wit.
Again you walmart door greeters need to look stuff up before making a jackass out of yourself so much.
You're welcome. Me not smart like u. ;)

Sir Arthur Keith was a British anthropologist, an atheistic evolutionist and an anti-Nazi, but he drew this chilling conclusion about Hitler: “The German Führer, as I have consistently maintained, is an evolutionist; he has consciously sought to make the practice of Germany conform to the theory of evolution.” www.roysecitycoc.org

No free will in atheism? Dr William B. Provine, Professor of Biological Sciences, Cornell University “Let me summarize my views on what modern evolutionary biology tells us loud and clear … There are no gods, no purposes, no goal-directed forces of any kind. There is no life after death. When I die, I am absolutely certain that I am going to be dead. That’s the end for me. There is no ultimate foundation for ethics, no ultimate meaning to life, and no free will for humans, either.” www.roysecitycoc.org

He has failed, not because the theory of evolution is false, but because he has made three fatal blunders in its application." -Sir Arthur Keith, Essays on Human Evolution,(London: Watts & Co., 1946), 210 (cf. Evolution and Ethics,(New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1947), 229.) In other words, Keith knows that evolution is not a philosophy and is upbraiding Hitler for mistakenly trying to MAKE it one. You would have to ask yourself, then, why the Nazis burned Darwin's "On the Origin of Species."

“If a person doesn’t think there is a God to be accountable to, then—then what’s the point of trying to modify your behaviour to keep it within acceptable ranges? That’s how I thought anyway. I always believed the theory of evolution as truth, that we all just came from the slime. When we, when we died, you know, that was it, there is nothing…” Jeffrey Dahmer, in an interview with Stone Phillips, Dateline NBC, Nov. 29, 1994.

HEATH - 72 wrote: http://www.apologeticspress.or g/APContent.aspx?category=12 &article=2786 Good read. Not even good as fiction. It gets it facts wrong and its argument is so full of holes I could use it as a strainer. For example, one of the claims is that there has not been a violation of the second law of thermodynamics. This is false. You see, the second law is an *approximation* which is based on statistical mechanics. But for systems involving small numbers of atoms, it is quite possible to violate the version that says 'entropy always increases'. A reference: http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn2572-se... Or, here is the abstract of the actual scientific paper: http://prl.aps.org/abstract/PRL/v89/i5/e05060... As for the first law, great care needs to be had in its usage, especially in questions of cosmology. For example a photon will red-shift due to the expansion of the universe, but that implies that it loses energy without that energy 'going anywhere'. There is a resolution in this case obtained by considering the gravitational energy of the universe in addition to the energy of the photon. But that again only shows that great care must be had.

Just let people have their own beliefs. What someone else believes does not affect you, and a lot of problems would be solved if everyone just realized that. I respect other's beliefs. I think as long as it makes you happy and secure, go right ahead.

If people kept their beliefs private this would be fine. Unfortunately when so called let's meet in the middle people like you come around they never say, let the atheists have and voice their belief. As I said if people kept their crazy god beliefs out if politics and schools and the public in general you point would stand. Ah but that goes against 99% of Christians they want to force and cram their beliefs down other's throats. Now they have some people standing up to them and oh snap! Secular society has changed where your lot can't burn those who disagree with them at the stake anymore!:( Sorry about that. anonymous wrote: Just let people have their own beliefs.
