Life, intelligence and self sacrificial love did not spontaneously spring from Nothing into YOU- a creature who possesses all three qualities. No effect, and you are an effect, may possess qualities not found in its cause. So your cause, which must be eternal since nothing comes from nothing, must possess those qualities plus the power to create an entire universe out of nothing, and to maintain it in working order; billions of galaxies, each with billions of star systems. That Cause has revealed Himself to us in Scripture. But y'all reject that fact simply because all you want to do is to get laid and loaded. Ergo, you can't stand the notion of a perfect God Who rewards the virtuous and punishes the wicked.

Possibly. But. I have a mother and a father who DID show me much love as I grew up.... kinda wipes out your "from nothing" bullshit, doesn't it?

But let's see the NEXT LIE you are selling...
Al Sowins wrote:

Still not a useful argument.

What about UNCAUSED events? Happens billions of times a second in Quantum Mechanics: uncaused events.

That kind of WIPES OUT your little bullshit here, too...

But what will be your NEXT lie?
Al Sowins wrote:

So. You are trying to claim my mother and father are... ETERNAL?

Laughing my azz off here!

You are Nuck-Futs! Seriously.... you ARE.

What a loony-bin.
Al Sowins wrote:

Natural laws maintain it in working order.

The universe was simply an uncaused event-- just like in Quantum Mechanics.

No need for more more of your batshit here....
Al Sowins wrote:

Kind of a waste, if it was all for Earth, don'cha think?

I'd call that 'bullshit' but it's not even THAT good.

Your line here? Is less than wormshit... seriously.

And you are DONE.

You know what...I am so sick of this "Atheists just want to sin" bull crap. I don't believe in "god", I don't drink (expect on holidays, and special occasions. I'm also not a whore. I can't stand the notion of a perfect God because he has rewarded NO ONE!!!!! People die every day for no reason. Most are not martyrs! People suffer for no reason. Many christians fall into that category as well. I don't however come on here and say "Oh well this person is a christian so they must be like the people that are members of the westboro baptist church." I'm so sick of you christians who think you are better than everyone else. I don't know how "blessed" you've been, but I don't believe in a god, and I live in a nice home, I take care of my dad, I have a satisfying job that pays as much as I need to make me happy, and let me survive, and I am happy most days of my life. I don't know where you get off thinking that you live your life any better than me because you go to church, or believe in the bible, or claim to be christian. Get over yourself.

The problem is that a lot of them need that superiority feeling.

Maybe its after the bit in genesis where it says Adam had a go with the animals in the garden before deciding none were satisfactory and he needed a human mate. Since the babble says god told him to do that, it doesn't sound like the big guy had a real problem with bestiality, although he probably wouldn't impress as a biology student.

They are desperate for it--- mainly due to the fact that Genuine Christianity™ teaches that everyone is lower than pond-scum, and somehow deserving of...

... torture.

So it's hardly a surprise when they feel they need a boost.

Well, they're losing their feeling of superiority over gays quite fast, especially now that DOMA has been ruled unconstitutional.

Yes. DOMA never should have been a law to begin with.

It is 100% based on religious bigotry-- which is strictly forbidden by the Constitution.

Yup, but we all know from the past that the US constitution isn't really followed as it should be, not at all at times.

Exactly. If it was? There would not be any tax-exempt religions.

They would **all** be taxed as "entertainment".

Exactly like the movies and playhouses are....

... and there's a lot of similarity there, too...

The only problem I have with the whole thing has nothing to do with same sex relationships.
It has to do with the political left and right, one side wants it (for the wrong reasons), the other side is against it (for the wrong reasons). I don't think the government should have any business in the decisions that reside in the American people.
Simply the acid test should be if a majority accept it it should be legal. The left wants it because it thinks it can dictate policy.
The right is opposed because it thinks religion can dictate policy.
Screw both of them, we the people dictate our policy and they seem to have forgotten that. Screw all the politicians, we need a new set, I know GL with that, but it's become a major problem.

I agree with you-- to a point.

At one time, the majority wanted to own people (slavery). But wiser heads prevailed, and it was outlawed.

The majority is not **always** right, when ethics/morality is concerned.

Sometimes, the majority has to be dragged into a moral position, kicking and screaming...

I don't think that's true Bob, the majority of those in power maybe. But that just boils down to the same thing, screw the politicians. I don't think that was ever put to vote, but I'm confident that it would fail every time.

Dragging the majority into anything is what dictators do, the majority decide what is moral anyway. That's why slavery went out.

You are an idiot if you believe the majority of U.S. citizens in America wanted to own slaves back before the Civil War. Go learn some history, dimwad.
