Hey NUT job listen closely.
Romans didn't speak English so they did not use the would marriage.
Origin: Middle English mariage, from Anglo-French, from marier to marry.
First use: 14th century

If you let the bible decide your morality, yes it is.
But witch burning, infanticide and slavery is in.
Most us normal people let society decide what is moral.
Witches were burned because the burned their children to dead in offering to Lucifer. They knew that burning their children were against the law as it is to day and that the punishment was death by stoning or burning or other means. These witches openly disobeyed the law. They got what they deserved.

You are really stupid to believe that.
Witches were convicted of imaginary crimes, to the financial gain of the Inquisitors , most were guilty of absolutely nothing.
This is documented history, to which even the pope has apologized
for the crimes committed by Christianity. You however remain atop Mt. Stupid.

Witches were also sacrificed for other deeds which had zilch to do with burning children. Conjuring, interpreting omens, general magic.

Did they exist and should they have been killed? Do they exist and should they have been killed?

I would like to point out (again) that I am not referring to ANY witch who has sacrificed children to fire or to anything else to that matter. I am referring simply to witches who have performed magical acts which (according to the Bible) should now be put to death.

Do you believe in witches and should they be killed?

Further references to child sacrifice (only ONE of a number of witch-related crimes in the Bible) will be an acknowledgement that you are avoiding the point in order to attain an imaginary moral high ground.

Very well then. The US Constitution guarantees ALL people EQUAL rights. Hence gays should be allowed to marry.

Just because slavery was still practiced in the early days of the US doesn't mean it wasn't illegally violating the Constitution. It just means a bunch of aholes didn't give a crapp about anyone else's freedom but their own.

I see.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygyny#Hebrew_...

But then if "marriage" wasn't invented until 1400AD it has been quite clear that both polygamous and same-sex unions have been around for FAR longer, and to a certain extent even Biblically supported (in the OT).

As it happens though, while your baseless religious opinions mean absolutely EVERYTHING to YOU, they mean SWEET F CK ALL to everyone else.(shrug)

Fact of the matter is that you do NOT live in a theocratic country based on Biblical law, and you have no legal right to impose against the personal freedoms of others just because of your baseless religious opinions. But you do your best because you hate freedom and hate America. And you despise the concept of tolerating anything which conflicts with your baseless religious opinions.

Your opinions however are nothing more than your opinions.

First of all, the leviticus verse that Macarena quoted is talking about how a man shouldn't treat another man as he would a woman; like property.

Second, where in the bble does it say anything about denying gay people the right to marriage?
Where does it say it's a sin?

It doesn't.

"Marriage" IS a civil union. You're not legally married unless you get a licence from the County Clerk. Doesn't matter what religious chicken-shaking rituals you've undergone - absent the licence, you're not married.
Now, do you have a difficulty with same-sex couples acquiring a marriage licence?
Only that's just what they're called...
Brilliant, Mac-- you've cut away the fat, directly to the bone.

One solution would be to prohibit ALL preachers from legalizing these state-granted marriage licenses.

And require ALL people desiring one, to apply to their local county/state offices.

I think that would be an excellent solution, too.

Civil union can have the same benefits as marriage. Just correct the wrongs there. Changing the definition of marriage is not needed.

Who's "definition"? YOURS?

YOURS is based on BIGOTRY-- and is NOT even supported by YOUR OWN BOOK (bible)!!!!!

More to the point? You ugly bigots DO NOT OWN THE CONCEPT OF MARRIAGE...

... YOU DO NOT GET TO DEFINE IT.
