Yeah-- I caught that right-off- she has inserted a non-printable character into her Avitar name, which ruins standard automatic quoting.
You have to manually delete the CR/LF characters...
KJV seems to be doing it too, unless there's an issue with Topix?

Strange to find this in the definition of Marriage.
Same sex union like that of a traditional marriage.
Like that = similar
Simply put your definition clearly is stating a Gay Union is not a Marriage.
Ok so what was your point here surfer dud.
M&M
My point, which Bob got right away (I guess he's just a little smarter than you are) is that KJV supplied the first definition as though it were the only one in an attempt to deceive anyone foolish enough to accept his word without checking, and that the meaning of the word varies with context, and almost every word in the English language does. Rigid literalists have problems dealing with that.

And that's where "a man shall not lay with another man as he would a woman" comes in. It's saying that a man shouldn't treat another man like a woman; like property.
You make an excellent point-- men, the authors of the BuyBull, did skew it heavily in favor of MEN, didn't they?

Women were just things, according to biblical law...

The "lesson" of Eve being created from Adam reinforces this stereotype too...

Yep... Rigid literalists tend to see words as being magically-absolute...

.. in fact? If you asked them, they likely believe Jesus would've used the King James bible...

[QUOTE who="KJV
"]<quoted text>
Ephesians 5:25-32 ESV
Husbands, love your wives..
Genesis 2:18-25 ESV
And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man....
Leviticus 18:22 ESV
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
Matthew 19:1-30 ESV
Now when Jesus had finished these sayings, he went away from Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. And large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. And Pharisees came up to him and tested him by asking,“Is it lawful to divorce one's wife for any cause?” He answered,“Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said,‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?...
Ephesians 5:31 ESV
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”
Genesis 2:24 ESV
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Ephesians 5:31-32 ESV
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.
Matthew 19:4-5 ESV
He answered,“Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said,‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?
Ephesians 5:25 ESV
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,
Genesis 2:23 ESV
Then the man said,“This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
Ephesians 5:28 ESV
In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
1 Corinthians 7:15 ESV
But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace.
1 Corinthians 6:9 ESV
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
Matthew 19:9 ESV
And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

None of this contradicts what Bob said.

Forgot to add:
Also, right there is grounds for polygamy.
If you already have a wife and your brother dies...well, now you have two wives.
Dumb xtians think that the buybull bans polygamy. It does not. The only thing the buybull says on polygamy is that a bishop should have one wife and that kings should not multiply wives to themselves. The latter being metaphoric in nature since in that same verse it says that the king should not multiply horses at a time when kings needed multiple horses.
Kings Solomon and David had hundreds of wives and concubines, no word from God against them. The ban on polygamy was an Imperial Roman idea. As much as Christians bashed Roman for their immorality, they took many ideas from them; including Christmas and monogamy.

I think the old Leviticus laws of forcing a brother to marry his brother's widow trumps that virgin requirement.
After all-- it >>is<< permissible to marry a widow, and if she has offspring, that is Kosher.
In fact, the "marry your brother's widow" thing is not as simple as all that-- the first SON that is born from that marriage?
Is automatically re-cristened as the official son of the DEAD guy!
This is so that he may inherit his father's property, which up until that time, could have been in limbo--if there was no SON to inherit properly.
Women and daughters were property themselves, and couldn't inherit.
A truly TWISTED and ugly religion...
It is hard to determine what trumps what in the buybull. For example, the buybull has two different creation stories. http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/contra/acco...
The buybull says that we cannot be held responsible for the sins of our ancestors-yet we all inherit original sin from Adam and Eve which we stand to suffer for unless we beg God to forgive us.
The children of Canaan were punished for the sins of their Grandpa, Ham.
The buybull bans child sacrifice, but a general is made to sacrfice his own daughter.

Of course!
Polygamy was quite acceptable to OT Jewish law. Women were just property after all, so why not? A rich man could afford to feed and support many wives...
.. and a poor man, according to the OT law, was poor due to some past sin, or perhaps an ancestor's sin, so really did not deserve a wife anyhow... maybe he would WORK for one instead?
Remember that one? The poor dude works 7 years for a wife, and then has the older (ugly) sister foisted off on him instead-- so he marries her, and works ANOTHER 7 years for the younger (prettier) daughter-- and marries HER, TOO.
Thus setting the stage for Modern Republican's leaders' divorcing and re-marrying a younger and prettier model, ditching the old worn-out one....
.... meh.
Nothing in the NT condemns polygamy save one verse that said that a bishop should have one wife. Christians took monogamy from the Romans and pretend it is their idea.

Remember that republican congresswoman who when asked about the use of Spanish said; "If English was good enough for Jesus, it is good enough for me?"

Never, that is a severe breaking of the Ten Commandments of Spelling!

Side note. I was sure that I could find some link about such an actual site, and it may occur. But all I could find were stories of the errors in a monument:
