Atheist Islamophobia... Again

There are 3766 comments on the Religion Dispatched story from Apr 9, 2013, titled Atheist Islamophobia... Again. In it, Religion Dispatched reports that:

Sparked by a Richard Dawkins tweet , in which he drew a parallel between Islamists and Nazis, Nathan Lean recently suggested on Salon.com that the most famous representatives of the new atheism "flirt with" Islamophobia [echoing Chris Stedman's prescient warning to fellow atheists on RD this past August]. As the article explains, Dawkins, Hitchens ... (more)

possibly not where you are living, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I've read the Border Patrol's public website data. Also, there is a Retired Border Patrol Agent's website which is EXTREMELY interesting as they don't suffer the Gag Order that official government websites operate under. Many Koran excerpts as well as whole copies, clothing and other muslim parapharnelia has been found in the mountains of trash slowly accumulating in our southwest along known foottrails into our country. Wish I could remember the names of the websites, but a keyword search is what I use. It doesn't work so well with wishful thinking (the Nobel Prize thing), but I have faith you can handle it.

<Sigh> I keyword-searched: "Retired border patrol muslim evidence", but if you c&p-ed the last line "middle-east-terrorists-o perating-along-arizona-souther n-border", it might get you there also. I've seen it on some cable shows a well, there's a show dedicated to Border Patrol, but i think the series ran it's course.

Therefore it is safe to assume you're not a homosexual. Or religion would scare the be Jesus out of you!

There's also a safe to sat that all other religions you find completely harmless. 911 was just sad mistake and should be forgiven.

Religion had absolutely nothing to do with this did it?

Personally I think any religious building on the planet, that has a lightning rod on the roof, shows a complete lack of confidence!

Streuth...are you just pretending to be thick? I said I do not worship any God, therefore I don't have to answer for any religious crimes of any sort. But I also don't care what anybody else chooses to believe. If you want to believe a yellow submarine is coming to collect you as you take your dying breath, to take you on an eternal underwater voyage, I am delighted you have that to look forward to. NOW READ THIS NEXT BIT VERY SLOWLY..........AS LONG AS YOU DON'T WANT TO KILL ME BECAUSE I DON'T WANT THE YELLOW SUBMARINE.

Honestly, everybody is thinking of nothing else here. Our biggest problem is censorship. They (Government and media) are starving us of a voice. There is not one single forum like this in the UK. The other day, after the Woolwich beheading, 2 people were arrested and charged for inciting hatred. They are awaiting sentencing. All for posting opposition to Islam on social media sites. It's so oppressive to anyone that is not Muslim, you would have to be here to see it for yourself. It's really scary now.

A few weeks ago, the government tried to pass something to deny the members of the military from promoting Christianity. What you got to notice (they've backed down a bit on that) is that the proposal didn't mention any other religon...or lack of one.
What you're telling me is so hair-raising and disgusting that it must be extremely scary to have a government to be so cowardly. I think the strongestest PM you ever had over there was Margaret Thatcher.

I was just discussing Maggie with someone actually. They wouldn't have done this to her....Not a chance. She would have launched Cameron and enjoyed sorting this out. She revelled in this type of thing. It is really scary now. A new development.... I was watching Sky News a couple of hours ago and the reporter said there was more than a thousand marching in Woolwich. He was cut short and it has been mentioned NOWHERE since. They don't want us gathering momentum. I feel like I am living in a communist state. Well I am really aren't I?

You're living in a country that is beginning to resemble a dog in danger of being taken over by fleas. What you just described is the like preamble to a bad movie and there is no Hero to save the day. I DO hope your fellow countrymen are taking heed of this- apparently your government isn't willing to scratch those fleas off.

Lmao!

Theists who believe in a divinely created Earth, and in the literal truth of the alleged 'holy book' aka the Bible containing 'hearsay' stories, written by primitive men, must reinterpret all new things discovered in light of the same source material.

The Secular humanist will read this and then make a judgment if it warrants merit or outright rejection.

We will not seek an apologist - we will use their own mind to determine the validity of the content.

In short we will question anything and everything.

The literal theist, on the other hand, is forced to say ...

"Either that's a lie, it's wrong, or God is testing my faith by giving Me yet more contradictory evidence that on the surface seems telling but really doesn't mean anything."

“Reason and faith are opposites, two mutually exclusive terms: there is no reconciliation or common ground. Faith is belief without, or in spite of, reason.”~George H. Smith

Look at my last 2 two posts to you again. I forgot to address it to you so reposted it. Why do you keep spouting this shite at me. I am not a holy Joe and I don't care. We don't have to know the ins and outs of everything. We are here, live, die that's it. I am, as you know talking about Muslims who kill those that don't believe their shite. Don't come back at me with your attempts at smoke and mirrors. It's boring.

The religious US right have influenced you. What 'liberal' has threatened your life...
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/liberal
You mean 'Liberal' as in political movement. This is misrepresented in the USA. British Conservatives like Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill were proud of their liberal credentials.

I don't understand why you think you're being silenced.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-226362...
The Stockholm riots, the stabbing in France and the attack in Woolwich have all been reported on the BBC. I live in the UK too.

I understand your anger but not your target. And as for Islam, remember that one cannot undermine one superstition (Islam) while trying to maintain another (Christianity).

And note that,(unlike 9/11 and 7/7 I think), there has been an immediate and unreserved condemnation of the Woolwich attack. That is some progress, at least...
Quote:
•No cause justifies this murder
•A barbaric act that has no basis in Islam and we condemn this unreservedly
•Vast majority of British Muslims acknowledge armed forces for the work they do
•Calls for calm and unity in all communities
