Atheist Islamophobia... Again

There are 3766 comments on the Religion Dispatched story from Apr 9, 2013, titled Atheist Islamophobia... Again. In it, Religion Dispatched reports that:

Sparked by a Richard Dawkins tweet , in which he drew a parallel between Islamists and Nazis, Nathan Lean recently suggested on Salon.com that the most famous representatives of the new atheism "flirt with" Islamophobia [echoing Chris Stedman's prescient warning to fellow atheists on RD this past August]. As the article explains, Dawkins, Hitchens ... (more)

I'd hate for groups like the Nazis to come back to power because of these small group of radicals, because a peaceful Islam has much to off but a violent one has much to loose.

<quoted text>I have not- again, my definitions come from a dictionary, yours seem to come from somewhere else. Nuns are different from muslims, that their prayer events are similar is quite a coincidence. Nuns volunteer to be brides of Christ- muslims are REQUIRED to be muslim or face a death sentence- a slight diference. At least to me it's different.
the prayers aren't a coincidence, it is the same mythical god. why don't you even know about your own religious cult?!?

muslims in the US are forced to join that cult? by whom?

you don't make any sense when you talk about your cults...

Nope. Look at my Avitar photo-- unlike you religious BIGOTS, I think marriage equality should be the law.
But you Genuine Christians™ are against marriage equality, against women, against pretty much any modern progressive idea.
Your hate is showing.
Wrong bob. I'm not against any of those. You're lumping me into preconceived categories with no basis to do so- what is the word for that? Regardless of your avatar, the words you posted define you and you d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y said those things. Were our avatars the only thing important, one might garner that I am an animal rights advocate (I'm not). You said women shouldn't have rights- don't deny it.

I've read the Koran, bob- it tells them so. It also tells them to kill nonbelievers. I didn't say prayers were a coincidence- your reading comprehension is poor.

I'm a McLaren fan but currently have to admit that Ferrari and Lotus are better.

I'm waiting for a religion to pop up and declare itself only to be the third or fourth best.

Word-for word, I erred- you didn't say "most", you said "vast majority". Unlike bob, at least I didn't invent a new definition, you have to give me that.

Not even then-- in the absence of non-Islamic enemies to hate? They quickly return to fighting amongst themselves.

Remember Shiite and Suni?

That's Islamic inter-cult fighting. Deadly, too...

Then? You are just another cherry-picking, Salad-Bar True Christian™.

You pick and choose from your evil bible, following what you like, and you just ignore what you don't.

Hypocrite.

What gives YOU the right to rewrite the single, and solitary reason you have, for even BEING a True Christian™?

Oh! Hypocrite-- I almost forgot...

And no.... I did not bother reading the rest of your rant.

I said that you REPUBLICAN-VOTERS think that woman shouldn't have rights.

I also said that you TRUE BELIEVERS™ believe that as well-- as your Genuine Christian Bible™ instructs you to:

"wives, be submissive to your hubbies"
"women, remain silent in church"

Basically, women are property, according to the Genuine Christian Bible™

Two words: Spanish Inquisition.

Okay, that's old news.

What about recently? Well... google "teen suicide" and you'll find that many teens who commit suicide, are also gay.

And?

Genuine Christianity™ actively persecutes gays, in the public sphere and in private too.

So there you go: one aspect of modern society, where Genuine Christianity™ is directly culpable for atrocity.

Indeed he does not.

I wrote a bit, showing that Genuine Christians™ keep voting in ReThuglicans, because they think ReThuglicans will start oppressing women again.

And this idiot, this HuntingForBrains, thinks that is something >I< support...!

He truly does not comprehend what he ... "reeds".

Vast majority is pretty much the same as most, your reading comprehension is a failure because I said that most wars are started by religious people, which is inherently true because of the overwhelming number of religious people versus irreligious people. What I stated was fact, you posted something that had, literally, nothing to do with what I stated. You evaded the topic, or you miscomprehended what was stated.
